  1. PopBox art for kids is/has opened up there. Plenty of my kids classmates have been going to PopBox for ages and they've got a new local home now too which is fantastic! https://www.popboxart.com/
  2. Because they're parked in a disabled bay? Not rocket science, is it? Classy. Had my late partners one stolen just before they passed away. Needed a smashed car window like a hole in the head.
  3. Goodrich School uses the pool and they've been told that the parts aren't available (just like last time...) and it'll be the new year before it reopens. Very on-brand for Southwark (who have a duty of care to make sure it's correctly maintained by whoever the lessee is).
  4. £15 per hour and the cushions are knackered. Still gets well booked up though.
  5. Not strictly a new shop opening, but I noticed several industrial sized bags of building materials outside the much missed Kebab & Wine yesterday...... Has anyone heard about work starting here?
  6. Not sure what the issue is (road collapse where the Thames Water roadworks are is my guess) but the 185 and 176 are diverting down Barry Road, down Peckham Rye and then left toward Goose Green.
  7. Agreed. It's been going on ad nauseam for years. She once announced she was leaving and never coming back. But no. She saw an opportunity to have another go at the people living in this area who she appears to hate so much. Oh I do have to laugh. The usual suspects goading left right and centre, then choosing to play the ‘shut down’ Louisa’ card when the argument goes against them. The above quoted forum members are a good summary of what is wrong with society today. ‘We don’t agree with you so we will shut your opinions down to make ourselves feel good’. Yawn. I barely use the forum, I really don’t give a toss if I’m “relegated to the lounge”. Bring it on! Haha. Losers. Louisa. Nah. We're just all bored of your boring twuntiness. And your dishonesty about being allowed back in if you behaved. Despite your protestations to the contrary; a class warrior you ain't.
  8. Sure. Moaners should contemplate relocating. While some people are struggling with bills, rents and mortgage payment it doesn't mean they have to deny themselves a little bit of luxury...for the same price I think some would prefer a latte to 2 multi packs of Hulla Hoops. Each to their own, I guess... And this response exemplifies my point about pretentious yuppies. Rather have a coffee than a multi pack of hula hoops. May I make a suggestion to any yuppies reading this? Invest in some instant Nescafé granules if you’re struggling that much. Then you can get one of the hula hoops multi packs too. Can afford an expensive coffee and then moans about mortgages, child care costs and rents. Hilarious, so full of self importance. Louisa. Ugh. Same old same old. Can we relegate Louisa to the Lounge again please Admin. She was allowed back if she didn't just regurgitate the same, stale vitriol. She's like Wolfie Smith but without the wit or self awareness.
  9. Thames Water don't want to annoy their shareholders. they're the only ones they care about. By their own figures, TW lose 24% of their output before it reaches homes/businesses. Any other business that didn't have a captive audience would lynch their CEO if this was the case. And the other water co's are no better and now they're allowed to dump raw sewage into rivers too. Nationalise the lot of them.
  10. Heaven forbid that Southwark put their LTN millions towards services for their residents. Like making sure the pavements are cleared of leaves in Autumn so the pavements are passable and the drains aren't blocked and Xmas trees are collected. Why should businesses pay more towards our shambolic and corrupt borough? 🤦‍♂️
  11. Also to add to the misery, there is a three way timed set of lights controlling a contraflow at the junction of the A205 at the top of Dulwich Common and Lordship Lane while they deal with another leak on the corner of Underhill & LL. Also some works on Belvoir Road but that looks like possibly installing water meters. Oh, and an email today from Thames Water to say the hosepipe ban is still in effect. You couldn't make it up...!!!
  12. I was caught in this earlier. Nothing came up on the TFL journey planner. But my bus got to Goose Green then headed up East Dulwich Grove where it came to a halt at the roadworks. For all I know it's still there now. Dulwich Common is at a standstill as well due to roadworks. Genius work from our councillors.
  13. Walked past it earlier this evening. Temporary or not, it's an eyesore. Although the 2 people using it to watch the fireworks at the Velodrome didn't seem to mind so who knows??
  14. For a good eat-in experience I'd say Babour over in Honour Oak. Plenty of unusual dishes to keep your palette amused. Sadly, the takeaway/delivery service is pretty standard fare so Rajah Rowing Club is a fine and quick alternative, and has a slightly better choice.
  15. If failing to water the pitch in summer means it's trashed through the rest of the year, not watering it might be the wrong thing. Also, the ban isn't in place until the 24th. There's been another mains burst 100m from the one that burst a few weeks back on LL at the junction of Firemans Alley. Don't see why pitches used by the local community should suffer lasting damage while Thames Water still see fit to pay huge dividends while they lose 24% of their water before it reaches the consumer. If they invested more back into the crumbling infrastructure (that they've been telling us is no longer fit for purpose, for decades now) then we wouldn't need a hosepipe ban.
  16. Plenty of these pitches are being used by various holiday clubs and sport activities. Just for balance, in England and Wales we lose 3.1 BILLION litres of water a day through leaks in the network, yet out utilities continue to be a favourite investment from overseas funds due to their high rate of return. The new Thames Water CEO has, allegedly, got a £3 million golden hello. They're either going to be brilliant at fixing the decades of underinvestment to warrant that, or will deliver bumper dividends to investors. You decide....
  17. Not sure if Pegasus would do this but they're my go-to for anything electrical. http://pegasusrepair.com/index.html

  19. Worth a try to appeal against - I've managed to get 2 tickets overturned recently. Its a bit pot luck and will be turned down on first appeal by default. I'm in favour of School Streets as a whole, but them being during holidays etc are just taking the mick.
  20. Yes I?ve been to Thailand and enjoyed the food while there. What I?ve always liked about TCC was the home made feel of the food. I?ve had more expensive Thai meals up in town which were nice too but the food and atmosphere of TCC are unbeatable. 21. I've reported that one several times already. Unless the road gives way (as happened on Overhill a while back - twice) they won't be any great rush to investigate or remedy. Too many leaks in a crumbling infrastructure that was ignored for too long and too many shareholders to placate, mostly overseas funds at that. It's the 21st century way.
  22. I?ve been going there for more years than I care to admit (or can even remember!) and have yet to have a bad meal or takeaway from them. Happy to say we enjoyed another lovely meal there on Friday.
