It's the third one to go Northern Rock on me. All the leaves shrivelled and then dropped off. If I tap the pot, the remaining ones fall to the ground. Someone on this site said it's nearly impossible to kill them, so what gives? I yearn for a massive, glossy-green plant, like you have in Chinese takeaways. Nero

Nero, I don't know what you do to them!

Is it outside? It shouldn't be at this time of year

Very little water required over winter, I haven't watered mine for a few months but if leaves are shrivelling and falling off it sounds like you haven't watered it for a year.

when the leaves dropped off were they very dry?

I put it in the garden when that agoraphobe yellow thing popped out for a few minutes last week, but failed to bring it in one night. I watered it sparingly since I got it. The leaves shrivelled and then dropped off. Perhaps it's not getting enough warm sunlight. And my M-I-L's tongue has lost its colour. Nero
If it was out on a frosty night that will have done it, they like to be cool at night but no frost - it may not be dead though. Keep it in until all fear of frost is gone and see if any new leaves grow. Have all the leaves come off? If so, what state is the stem in?

    • @Penguin68 I find your post really weird and frankly  a bit creepy. The discussion is about the fact that a charity shop has a sale on and whether their pricing and stock policy has changed. To twist that into an attack on government fiscal policies and an oblique snipe at the cross party supported assisted dying legislation, passed with clear support from the majority of the public, is just bafflingly bizarre. I am relieved that you stopped short of blaming Southwark Council or TfL. There is no contradiction between the intent of the assisted dying bill and the work of hospices, it does not force doctors to do anything and suicide doesn’t exist- it was abolished as a crime in 1961.  If you wish to raise yet another argument you have already lost, I suggest you start a new thread rather than divert this one off topic.
