Looking for a P.A./carer for someone who is immunocompromised and disabled


Professional care experience is preferred but not required

Must be vaxxed and boosted

Be covid-cautious, test regularly, and wear a good well-fitted mask (not cloth or surgical) at work

Must be Trans/Nonbinary friendly

Preferred to have own transport available i.e. bike, scooter, or car, or live near enough to walk to location in South East London



JOB DESCRIPTION:

Role is to be sole carer for a disabled person, and involves household tasks, personal care, and admin

Located in client?s home in East Dulwich

14 and a quarter hours per week,

?10.85 per hour take home pay, plus pension contributions, holiday, and sick pay

Shifts are around 3 to 4 hours long, usually midday start, and are every other day


We are looking for someone who is:


Looking for a long term position, or in the short-term who can help find a longer term carer

Willing to protect immunocompromised client from covid-19

Organised & tidy, confident and comfortable in doing housework

Has initiative, and can be left to work unsupervised when necessary

Friendly, with good interpersonal skills

Reliable, trustworthy

Confident working outside of a team, as sole carer

Able to work every other day

Able to work flexible hours

Willing to wear a mask whilst at work


The client is a nonbinary person in their mid-20s, with full mental capacity. They have chronic pain and chronic fatigue, as well as complex allergies. They are a creative, funny, and straight-forward person, who enjoys chatting and developing a friendship with their carers.


The client needs help with day to day tasks, including but not limited to: washing up, laundry, prepping food for meals, cooking, cleaning, shopping, organising their medication and getting it from the pharmacy, healthcare admin (emails, phone calls, etc). They are an accomplished gardener and will advise you to do gardening tasks such as watering, cutting off produce, and weeding. They also might ask for help with sewing projects, such as cutting fabric, and DIY projects (i.e. putting up a shelf, fixing drawer with screwdriver).
