hubby and daughter have gone away to see his family for a few days - i'm working.

First time alone in the house since she was born! I told my colleague at work expecting to get sympathy for my loneliness but he was just - YOU HAVE THE HOUSE TO YOURSELF!

what should i be doing. so far, I've been for a swim, loaded the dishwasher with some of the chaos that was left in their departure (more of that later too), watched revenge.

feel like i should be running naked around the house or something . ideas?!!

what I shall enjoy is a LONG sleep with NO INTERRUPTIONS. As well as not creeping around the house in the morning when i get up to go to work!

Tempted to call in sick to make the most of it all , but better not...

watch all those films and old repeats you want to but husband not keen on. Play loud music, thrash metal or grime or something similarly blasting. Read in bed for aaaaages, eating left over Easter eggs and hot cross buns. The bathroom is Yours and Yours Alone.

You don't have to compromise on ANYTHING!! Awesome!!!

My hubby is taking my 3 (assuming I can get youngest Pickle to take a bottle) to see his family in Scotland in May. I can't wait. When I was pregnant with #3 he took the older two away for a week, my Mum was adamant I would rattle round the house missing them terribly.

I ate Pringles for dinner, watched TV at the time I'd usually be doing bath/bed, went to Bluewater for a day with just a handbag.

Bliss. It was lovely to have them home, but both they and I had a great time!

Enjoy!

Watching grown up TV while eating breakfast sounds like a pretty good start! And just think, same again after work without anyone to dictate the channel!

Recharge your batteries as they soon return quick enough for the missed cuddles you're craving and the madness continues!

All of the above! But most of all don't clean the heat excahnger on your tumble dryer, the filter on the dishwasher, go to Ikea or any of the other jobs that are lurking at the back of your mind... I did all of the above when my husband took my 2 away to see his parents, and I regret not just putting my feet up, drinking hot cups of tea and watching grown up TV.

My priority is always a leisurely breakfast with the newspaper spread out over the table. I actually get to eat an entire piece of toast and drink the whole cup of (still hot) coffee without having to get up from my seat. (Sometimes if I wake up really early and can't get back to sleep I sneak down to do this, but invariably the toast has just popped when I hear little footsteps on the stairs.)

    • We have 16 weeks of road works in the area which is already causing traffic hold ups we are going to have this gala go on to add to the traffic and there are drop off points and pick up points for it at bottom end of barry road for the green badge of doomer ubers to add to the traffic
    • Has anyone else noticed a small notice, midway on the green, metal barricade, that is flagging another event in September? It seems to be another event organiser has been granted a licence to operate in the same area of the park? Does anyone know more? If Cllr Hamvas is around, perhaps she could shed some light on this and any other plans for further commercial exploitation of our precious park, by this council.
    • Anyway, along with most of the (many)  things I'm presently worrying about, it will all sort itself out one way or another when I find myself doing something about it. I have to remind myself that I'm not starving in Gaza or being bombed or living in America. Thanks everyone for your help, all your comments have been very useful, I  have read and  "liked" them all, even if I didn't acknowledge individual posts x
    • I suppose car clubs operate outside of London but it sounds like it requires quite a lot of forward planning. Not sure how helpful if you need to make a last minute journey out of London and are unclear when you will travel back.
