Pretty Pregnant gone!!

Hi, I know they have been having a lot of sales recently and had moved away from selling toys to just one main range of clothing,but didn't realise they were going to close. Having brought something in there last week I was really surprised that It's been completely emptied out now. I guess we don't have the spending power of the mummies at their northcote and Kings road branches?

The problem for me and the sole reason I never went in there again was the snooty stony-faces that I encountered the only two times I went in.

They slashed the price of absolutely everything in store in the past week or two - e.g. ?100 maternity jeans down to a tenner, 80% off the Petit Bateau stuff. When I asked them why they said it wasn't a closure, it was a refurb and they had to get rid of a stock surplus, but sadly I'll eat my hat if this was true.

Exactly Jeremy. I remember attempting to buy an evening dress whilst I was pregnant there. The SALE price was ?160! For a dress I was likely to wear twice at best.

And yes, they were totally nonchalant about customers.

JoJo Mamam Bebe much more reasonable and friendly - despite a far more pretensious name!

Not sure how a manufacturer can take into account the number of times an item of clothing may be worn into pricing, other than by making it slightly sh*t. If you want quality, you need to pay for it.

I didn't know they had other branches?

I thought they were something to do with Pretty the greengrocer/cafe, also in North Cross Road. Duh.

On their website they still list the ED location though they describe it as an Outlet. Perhaps they are refurbing it. Has it always been an Outlet store?
