...I know, another one of these... But we're all out of ideas.

We want somewhere decent to go for a late lunch with our 9 month old tomorrow, but everything is feeling a bit same-old. Any suggestions welcome for somewhere in ED, Peckham, Camberwell...even further afield

We like...

Ganapati

Tandoori nights

Swadesh

Indian Mischief

Angels and Gypsies

Thai Corner Cafe

Meze Mangal (Lewisham)

Hisar

PLease help us discover a new, old favourite.

Lunch scuppered through ear infection of 9mo - boooo!

Thanks everyone! assumed begging bowl not child friendly - but good to know if it is (highchairs etc?)

We walked past FM Mangal today - definitely going to give it a shot. Heard good things about the Silk Road too....

Babur I haven't heard of - we will check it out one day.

Good to know there are so many options. Hurray!

Cafe East, Surrey Quays. Kingsland Road quality Vietnamese. Buzzy. Easy parking, or get there by the Overground, heaps of high chairs. You may have to wait for a table but the turnover is quick.

No beer, no tap water and cash only are the negatives.

We went to the Begging Bowl a couple of weekends ago for lunch with our nearly 3 yr old and 9 month old. It's a bit of a squeeze getting the buggy in and the tables are all very close together but they do have a couple of high chairs and there are quite a few families there at lunch time. Plus the staff are very child friendly.

Is that for real antantant? No tap water? Isn't that illegal? (PS - I posted a few mins ago about my use of ant killer - nothing personal you understand...)

ETA - sorry for going a bit off topic, very much appreciate all the suggestions here

I'm not sure what it says about me but it's the not selling beer at Cafe East that annoys me the most!

But yes, I think you're right, the no alcohol license means they don't have to give water away, which is a shame.

We had Sunday lunch at the Gantry in Brockley this weekend too - and that was really nice, with a great garden for Summer.

    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
    • Having a BBQ (fingers crossed) in 2 weeks and need a small BBQ for veggie bits and any spare benches or garden tables and chairs to borrow to add to mine. Any going? Thanks in advance...
    • Oh dear, hope you are OK, I've had it three times and it was worse each time, but not a patch on many of those who got it before they vac' role out. Not commenting on the discussion as I got confused many days ago beyond the reminder that Corbyn would not compromise and the harm that could lead to him, the party and regards Brexit pre and post referendum the country.  Starmer goes too far the other way at times.
