Hollydale Primary School - what's it like?

Can anyone tell me what Hollydale Primary is like? Its 2011 OFSTED report is 2, ie good. But what's it like now for kids (and parents)? Would you recommend it? Thanks.

Hi Clare, I know parents with children at the school, including reception. They seem to be very happy with it.

Clare - we liked it and the parents we have spoken to, loved it. We put it top of our list (although Edmund Waller is slightly closer) and are now weighing up Hollydale v the new HA Free School.

PS I heard a rumour that the headmistress is leaving. A loss since she seemed very good but I understand the new one is an experienced head from elsewhere and similarly well thought of.

I have only heard very good things said about the school as well but I dont have any first hand experience I am afraid.

I also felt the school was a bit to small and compared to others in the area when looking round needed a lot of money investing in it, computers were very old etc.. Decided it was not for us. Best advise is to take a tour, what you want from a school might be very different to someone else.

I think the head leaving is a good thing she had been there a very long time and it showed, someone with a fresh outlook is not always a bad thing!
