Wanted: recommendation for an awning

Hi,

There is a company in New Cross that does reasonably priced awning and they are very good. They are called 'Shades' and are in The Apollo Business Centre, 158 Trundleys RD, SE8 5JE. Telephone 0208 694 2617. I have just bought awning material from them for a home made stall for craft fairs. They supply and install awning but the fixings can be bought with the materials separately for a DIY job. They are very helpful especially if you have a budget to stick to.

A friend also bought a ready made awning in Macros SE10, which was easy to install himself and is brilliant, but that was a few summers back, I don't know if they will sell them this summer. You have to have a trade card to buy there but lots of people or clubs have them and someone would help you out. I am entitled to one if you need it.

Good luck with your purchase.

Anne

    • Not sure what point you are making I have long since been aware of the issues, and would never have gone for it.  Maybe it cannot be applied without capturing damp.  I question why government part funded it.  But I also question why individuals did not do their own research.  This took me five second, it took longer to cut and paste it here: Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors The RICS advises homeowners to get independent advice from a qualified professional who is not affiliated with the installer or manufacturer. They also recommend not installing spray foam in listed or protected buildings without prior consent.   Property Care Association The PCA recommends that homeowners carry out appropriate checks to determine if spray foam is suitable for their roof. They also created a protocol for surveyors and lenders to make informed decisions about properties with spray foam insulation.     HomeOwners Alliance The HomeOwners Alliance recommends that homeowners avoid installing spray foam roof insulation.
