dino99
New three storey spray paint graffiti mural on the side of the William Hill shop at the corner of Grove Vale and Vale End. This is right at ED station. The guy has been making it for the past 2 days this weekend.Anybody know what this is about or who has commissioned it? Peckhamgatecrasher
Now, now, clareybrad, don't you know you're not allowed to have a subjective view of art? It makes you an arsehole. gwynfor
I know one of the guys involved works with an Israeli graffiti crew called Broken Fingaz, who are pretty great:http://brokenfingaz.com/They had an excellent show in the Truman Brewery off of Brick Lane last year which had some very decent press. As in here:http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/art/features/bright-minds-and-broken-fingaz-7648119.htmlDead hip. IngridB
The girl in the mural is inspired by A Girl in a Window by Rembrandt at Dulwich Picture Gallery. System did the girl and Remi Rough the background. It is part of the 'collection' of Dulwich Outdoor Gallery https://www.facebook.com/DulwichOutdoorGallery Broken Fingaz did the face with two sets of eyes on the wall outside the ArtHouse, 165 Lordship Lane, next to the bus stop. IngridB
Strictly speaking there are only 3 Dulwich Outdoor Gallery murals in SE21, all in the parks. Here is an article about them http://dulwichonview.org.uk/2013/06/04/baroque-the-parks-inspiration-from-dulwich-picture-gallery/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31960-mural-on-vale-end-at-ed-station/#findComment-666507 Share on other sites
edhistory
Thank you.I do not think I am fit enough to walk to Belair car park.I'll try to look at the new Forest Hill street art instead.I guess it should realy have been called the "East Dulwich Outdoor Gallery".Simple slip to make if you don't live in East Dulwich.John K Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31960-mural-on-vale-end-at-ed-station/#findComment-666633 Share on other sites
