Interesting bit of research mentioned in Times today

The think tank Onward has created the first ever “trust map” of the country, revealing at a granular level those places where trust among communities are at their highest and lowest levels. The research, which has been presented to the levelling-up secretary Michael Gove, used the Office of National Statistics’ standardised question on trust. This asks people on a scale of one to five whether “generally speaking, people can be trusted or that you can’t be too careful in dealing with people?”

Compared to the national median, East Dulwich not doing too badly. Residents of Dulwich Village and Herne Hill seem more trusting. Interestingly, East Dulwich low on carefulness.

1) not sure it was publicly-funded, alice. Did you read the report? https://www.ukonward.com/reports/good-neighbours/

2) there's a clear positive relationship between wealth and trust. Look at the diagrams in the middle of the report.

3) there's also a weaker negative relationship between population density and trust, and between Remain sentiment and trust. The latter is probably a consequence of the former.

4) I'm not statistically smart enough to know if any of these relationships are material.

    • Here to add my voice to those praising Temi. She just painted my dilapidated home office in ED and did a fantastic job in just two days in a much lighter colour, including woodwork, damp blocker and filling holes. She's efficient, on time and I barely heard a peep out of her; she just got on with the job. I recommend her wholeheartedly.
    • The residents & families of the estate are getting parking fines,  out of the blue , the residents parking system waa changed from Southern to Sippi with cameras put up in the car park and people issued with fines entering the estate for more then 10 minutes , families can no longer pick up or drop off family due to a new 10 minute wait fine. Residents are appealing with Sippi and Southern as there was no letters to consult of a parking change,  new waiting times or fines, delivery drivers are getting fines everyday,  if you get a fine,  appeal it, there is no signage up to say about parking fines or waiting time
    • Threads that devolve like this should be moved to the Lounge, so the 'comedy' can continue in an appropriate vacuum.
    • How very dare you. Rest assured, if it were intended to be comedy, it would have been funny.
