Asset
My laptop is telling me that the battery has reached the end of ts useful working life and I need to buy a new one.I've only had the laptop for a couple of years and hardly ever use the battery as it's usually plugged into the mains.Do any of you computer geeks out there know if it is a scam by Dell and I should ignore the message? Is it possible that I have ruined the battery by keeping it constantly hooked to the mains and rarely discharging it? lozzyloz
Quite likely. How long will it run on battery alone? I'm assuming normal time around 3 hours on power saver setting so anything less than an hour means it's buggered. Whatever you do, replace it with a proper battery not a cheap one from China as it will work out more expensive in the end. SeanMacGabhann
I'm getting the same message on my Dell - as I knew I would. It's not really a scam tho - batterly lasts about 10 minutes. As I rarely if ever use it from the battery anyway I'm just ignoring the message and not replacing it Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3219-dell-laptop-battery/#findComment-100200 Share on other sites
ontheedge
This is amazing as I was going to put similar query on. Up until Sunday mine was fine getting approx 2 hours use,o now the computer won't even start unless connected to mains. Does this mean battery gone or is there anything else it could be it's a dell lattitude. Michael Palaeologus
All Dell batteries die at the end at the same time?It can only mean one thing..The End of Days is upon usStocking up on tinned food and bottled water is suggested, that and the power of prayer.
