After being let down by another Plumber who didn't turn up I found Niko's number on the Forum. He said he would try to come over that evening to look at the problem, which he did. Fixed it and arranged a follow up visit a couple of days later to fix another problem. (No hot water to the sink and Electric shower running hot and cold) Excellent service and very reasonably priced. He did this a about a month ago and there have been no problems since.

Another big recommendation for Niko. Came round in the evening at short notice first time round to repair some broken taps and then again when faced with a leaking cistern on a Sunday called Niko and he was round later that day and went out of his way to find the right part to fix it. Also very reasonably priced. Will definitely be using him again.

Niko really is great - the secret you don't want to share ! He first came in May ( he was recommended on the forum and rightly so ) . It was over the bank holiday and i needed somone to mend an unidentified leak .... Quickly identified as shot sink plumbing - repaired it ... Good quality work, and easy to deal with . I was away and he kept in touch all the time and checked it was all mended and happily called to reassure me.

Then he was back in June to fix another leak ( at 10pm ) - such service !! It's unbelievable how he does it .... He never seems to stop.

As soon as i can i'll have him back to mend the last of my old plumbing and look forward to the water staying in the bathroom .

I also recommend Niko, he came round and assessed why my sink was blocking and then came back a week or so later to sort it out, and it is all working fine now, which is great because I have tenants and when they are happy I am ....relieved! I was away when he was available to fix it but he said that was fine and sorted out a time with the tenants which was very helpful, it was very nice to receive a text from my tenants when I was away to say it was all sorted.

    • Ocado stopped sourcing from Waitrose a few years ago. They now source from M&S and general brands. Waitrose have their own delivery service now. I don't know how well served SE22 is by it. Ocado offers for new customers are, or certainly were, really good, particularly in the run up to Christmas. I think I got 20%/15%/10% up to a maximum of £100 spend off my first three deliveries with no delivery charge or commitment to sign up for further deliveries. There wasn't a time limit, IIRC, so it was a great way of restocking heavy store cupboard basics and stuff for the freezer.
    • Fair enough point, but does that not in a way make it even worse if they open a shop almost directly  opposite another "family" business selling exactly the same type of products?
    • As Occado source from Waitrose, and were their only deliverer at one stage, and as Waitrose do now deliver it may be they feel their reach in ED is sufficient to mean having a local outlet would not gain them sufficient additional sales to be cost effective. The movement to delivery rather than physical shopping during Covid has I believe substantially changed the grocery economics. So it may be that the High Street dynamic for physical shops has now changed.
    • ..... thinking about the discussion about Chango.  Their "About us" blurb on the website says started by one Argentina guy.  So if one person has a successful business and goes on to open a number of shops when do they go from a supported successful "family" business to a less liked "chain"?
