Decent 'London Cheesecake' in any ED bakery?

Not a cheesecake - but a 'London Cheesecake'(picture attached). Ayres of Nunhead do nice ones, but it's a nightmare to park my car on Nunhead Lane. Any baker around here make them? I've not found one yet.

Broomfields the bakers used to bring those round in big baskets to my family's flat in Streatham in the fifties.

(In the days when there were rag and bone men and the paraffin and coal was delivered to the door as well - AAARRRGGGHHHH my childhood is the olden days :)) )

Sue unfortunately I remember those days well! Yes I am that old! Haha And yes they do, Ayres make them and they are delicious, but unfortunately I can't get down there too often and they always sell out early. An old classic that's difficult to get these days, but they always remind me of childhood and go down well with a cup of Rosie :)

You can get them in the Badger Bakery at the Plough end of the lane, and I imagine Hirsts, at the less elevated end, will do them too. They're a damn sight easier to get hold of than Lemon Puffs.

For those unfamiliar with the mendacious confection, it's coconut on top, not cheese. That can make for a messy sort of surprise if you're not expecting it, and not necessarily in a good way.

They're definitely still around. There's a bakery off Victoria Street that does them, cannot remember the name offhand.

Why not set up a London cheesecake/Over-priced sourdough exchange with another forumite from Nunhead?

PS sorry to see that not being able to park your car nearby means that traditional bakeries lose your valuable custom, or have I fallen for the bait? hook, line & sinker...

Thank you for the suggestions everyone. I will definitely give all of those a try. I swear I've been to Badgers and not seen them before, maybe I got there too late. Ayres will never lose my custom, they just don't get it as often these days because Nunhead is a bugger for parking.

London cheesecake is my favourite!

I get mine from Badgers and from Hirst( near Sea cow and the favourite chicken place )

Just don't eat them all, save some for me .
