Covid antigen tests - what to do with these please?

I still have a few Covid test kits.

I don’t believe they would catch a potential highly mutated virus now but any idea if/how those could still be useful? Or shall I just bin them?

If you don't think you will need them. Maybe offer them for free on this site.  As I had to test regularly when went to visit my Mum in care home recently.

Checked the dates on ours - valid until mid 2024. Hubby had to go for a pre operation assessment and was told that he needed to take a  test a few days before going into hospital for the op and on the day of admission.

My mother in law has just tested positive - on her 80th birthday :(.  Boots has also reported test sales rising as we enter yet another phase of the virus.  We all need to test if we are feeling under the weather.

Are tests still the same or do current ones detect mire recent virus strains 

Vaguely related. I have been getting annoyed by mask wearers.  Perhaps i should be more tolerant. Still feel justified by annoyance at "half mast wearers" (covering chin only!)
