I saw a car clamped on Worlingham Road on Saturday morning, a Mini that had been parked on a single yellow line (tax was in date). I didn't know that clampers operated in the area and it seems odd that they'd clamp a car on a yellow line, surely clamping it means it can't be driven out of the way (cars parked on a line are an "obstruction")? Anyway, watch out for the clampers.

You're right - there aren't usually clampers. The used to work in council 'hit squads' where they'd target an area for a week or so before moving on to the next.

So this is either the start of a week long blitz, or a new independent company that's opened up just for the local community.

The Southwark Community wardens were out in force on Sunday morning - giving the once over of all of the cars along Landcroft road, i imagine checking discs, number plates etc.

Not so sure what they were upto, but they didn't look happy! Then again, working on a Sunday, on a sunny morning...

Either way, eyes peeled.

hmmm, might be related to the bit of bother at the Castle on Saturday night when a few pis*heads were taking out their insecurities on innocent cars in the area. Perhaps the wardens were just checking around for more damage? Maybe not. Any other clamped cars been seen in the area?
My car was clamped (by a private co.) in the car park by the Plough the other week. Turns out that there is a warning on signs in the car park that non-customers will be clamped. It was the middle of the afternoon and the car park was empty so the punishment didn't exactly match the crime. I've often used that car park when nipping into the bank, but I won't be doing that again in a hurry.

ah the plot thickens.. they may well have been checking for damage - they had a forensic look about them!

muttley - if your popping into the bank near the plough, most of the residential streets around Crystal palace road have free parking and there is usually ample space!

Joe LD - in fact even in the middle of a weekday, I'm surprised at how often there are no spaces at the top of Landells and CP Road - East Dulwich is becoming over-run with cars. Now there's nowhere to park my Volvo estate, it's a disgrace. (Just kidding about the last bit.)

    • I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with Yousef and his team for my recent house move in East Dulwich. Downsizing and relocating  my stuff from a house to a flat was made a calm and pleasant experience. The move included large and heavy items of furniture, taking items apart and reassembling in the new place, as well as loads of boxes. Nothing was too much trouble. I can thoroughly recommend this service, you will not be disappointed!

    • The GM's in Dulwich has been gone for around 3 years, so the most recent post must be about the Crystal Palace branch, I presume the same staff moved over? I've been going to Tash at Kuki for a while, never had a problem.
