National trust-which are best with children?

We were given membership for Christmas and haven't made the most of it yet but wondering which national trust sites are good for children? We have a 21mo and 2mo and ideally would like those within an hour or so or ones which we could combine with an overnight stay?

we've been to quite a few with Miss Oi (now 3.5). Most recently we went to Igtham Mote in Kent which was lovely, good grounds for her to run around in. There's loads in Kent - you should have got the handbook with your membership, or their website is very good.

Not close but Sudbury Hall in Staffordshire is amazing- it has a museum of childhood- great fun.

We went to Chartwell, Winston Churchill's house, in Kent last weekend - just 40 mins to get there, lovely house, beautiful gardens, but check out the camps and dens (complete with hammock) in the woods, plus the rope swings from the trees are awesome! Children and adults had a brilliant time!

Chartwell is fabulous

Polesden Lacey is also worth a visit - nice playground, trails and grounds.
