willow
Have got the remains of a leg of lamb and wondered whether it was possible to make into stock, in the manner of our hardy predecesors. Seems a shame to waste it..... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3343-is-there-such-a-thing-as-lamb-stock/ Share on other sites
SimonM
If the bone is still in it's worth a shot...as long as you like Scotch Broth! :)) Lamb stock is pretty insipid...stick lots of onions in. Peckhamgatecrasher
Roast the bone on a low heat for a good hour or so, before you make it into a stock - it will yield more flavour Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3343-is-there-such-a-thing-as-lamb-stock/#findComment-104478 Share on other sites
pablogrande
when you boil the stock put an onion in with the skin still on Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3343-is-there-such-a-thing-as-lamb-stock/#findComment-104494 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
When I pick up bones from the butchers for stock, unless specified it's usually whatever random bones they have in the box. I have since learned to avoid the lamb bones as it just doesn't taste "right" to me. In order of preference for stock-making it'sVealBeefChickenLambfor me anyway Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3343-is-there-such-a-thing-as-lamb-stock/#findComment-104501 Share on other sites
