Rach1983
Anyone know what's going on with The Gardens Cafe? It's been closed for ages now! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/33789-the-gardens-cafe/ Share on other sites
jimbo1964
I imagine it's closed. I tried calling and the number doesn't accept incoming calls (never a good sign). It's a great space. I hope someone with a bit of imagination can take it on. DulwichFox
Bit Ironic that a Place that was once an Electrical Shop to be closed due to an Electrical Fault. One would of thought that any Electrical Fault could easily be fixed. Feel that may not of been the real reason for closing down a business. Foxy.. spanglysteve
I imagine they must have had a cost base which they couldnt sustain. The place always seemed busy and the prices very high so I can't imagine they had a shortfall of income. People in the area were obviously willing to pay such prices (although I wasnt, I didnt think the food warranted what was being charged).I presume they spent a lot redecorating the place and presumably had to borrow to fund that. Now that the place is in relatively good shape, its possible someone else could take it over with much smaller borrowings and perhaps make it work? Its a great location opposite the park.
