Who was it, then? Don't keep us all in suspense 😂

It was Millennium.    Had a few problems with the order as some incorrect items were delivered but they did remedy the problem by eventually sending the correct items.  Glad I hadn’t tipped.  In case anyone is interested in my opinion, the tarka dal was extremely runny, and the stuffed paratha was greasy in an unpleasant way.  The onion bhajis were tiny but tasted OK.  The sag paneer tasted very minty which wasn’t expected.

I still like Spices in Nunhead especially for value for money, but wanted to try a few other places.

That's a shame.

I haven't used them for a long time as I haven't had a delivery for a long time, but I always found their food and service  reliably good.

Perhaps I have unusual standards but receiving samosas with meat filling when vegetable ones had been ordered was unpleasant.

Perhaps they have new staff and/or a new chef (given your comments about the other food you got).

Not that that is any excuse, obviously.

As the meat samosa will be more expensive (they normally seem to be) than the veggie option - so long as you were not charged for the meat samosa then it does seem an honest (if annoying) mistake. Indeed it is plausible that another punter was irked to receive veggie samosas in place of the meat ones they had ordered!

They have three types of samosa, vegetable, chicken and lamb. They are all the same price £2.90.  To bite into a meat samosa when you don’t eat meat is foul.   It’s not possible to place a delivery order on their portal, you have to call. However a collection order can be placed.  This seems odd.

Anyone living in the area who likes curry needs to try a delivery from two sisters in Nunhead -  it’s leagues above most.

Constantly searching for similar quality Chinese delivery if anyone has any suggestions

In my experience they're all crap but then I'm vegetarian so I get mine delivered from Khan's in Brixton.

Their vegetarian dishes are very good.

For delivery, tried Khan’s a couple of weeks ago. They offer a discount if you spend £25 or more.  I only ordered vegetarian food. Complimentary poppadoms were provided but don’t know if that it is normal as it was my first order. The tarka dal was very good.   The portions are large but they are more expensive. The order came in under the 60 minutes that was promised. I thought the naan that was ordered was very average, like they’d been hanging around for a few hours.  Some restaurants are better at baking than others.  I would try them again to see what the other vegetarian dishes are like, such as the pumpkin ones.  Andy P, what are your favourite dishes there?  I did have an aubergine, tomatoand potato one which was good.

    • Labour have changed a number of things overnight.   1. VAT on school fees - this has resulted in 25,000 moving until state education. 2. Increasing NICs adding billions to the cost of going to work. 3. Introducing the Employment Rights Bill causing employers to stop hiring. This and item 2 have added 100,000 people to the unemployment scrapheap. These are also causing businesses to relocate further harming the economy. 4. Scrapping all the small boats deterrents meaning 60,000 illegal migrants have arrived in small boats since they were elected. 5. Dishing out huge public sector payroses with no conditions so we have a massively increased payroll and doctors etc arestill going out on strike. 6.changed IHT and non domicile tax rules causing 16,500 millionaires to leave the UK and stop paying any tax here at all forever. 7. Alongside 6, leaving the budget up until an historically late period after the last budget has caused a house price crash, killing the market and decimating government stamp duty receipts. 8. Their profligate borrowing (£100bn extra in just one year) to fund all their lavish promises means the government can now only borrow at the highest ever yields on records. They are more beholden to the bond markets than Liz Truss was. 9. The rate of inflation has doubled under this government. It was a healthy 2% when they came in. For most of the last year, as a result of all of the above it is now nearly 4%.   These are all decisions the Labour government took that have immediate cause and effect.  Its no good harking back to 15 years ago. The current administration was gifted the fastest growing economy in the G7 and within 15 months they have destroyed it.    And things are only going to get worse this winter.

    • A lot to agree with here - don’t get me started on Irish people complaining about immigration! - but that final paragraph is once again a cop out  there’s a lot of extreme right wing money stirring up the division that people are feeling - but there is zero excuse for handing power to these people. We live in a democracy and if we have enough people willing to give it up then judging those people foolish enough to do so is not only something that will happen, it is something that the rest of us should be morally compelled to do  if someone wouldn’t “normally” vote for a racist party yet somehow will do so because they hear someone like me saying that would be bad, then you better believe I’m judging them
