I hope she is ok, and finds the help she needs to get herself into a better state of mind.

As someone who recently lost a family member to suicide, I would give anything to have had the chance to offer help after a failed attempt. I hope she has the support of family and friends to help her, and my thoughts are with all involved.

I think for someone to take an action as extreme as this is absolutely intent on ending their life and almost certainly would not have expected to survive. The degree of anguish this woman must be in to have done what she did is probably and thankfully beyond the understanding of most of us. I hope that she and her family get all the help they need. I also hope that the driver and witnesses get plenty of support and understanding.

Very good point only asked as my wife was on her way to work at that time and i hadn't hear from her. I had been in europe all week.

I would like to share information about the brilliant charity PAPYRUS - for the prevention of young suicide. They believe, as I do, that many young suicides are preventable.

Suicide is the biggest killer of young people (under 35years old) in the UK. And the statistics do not tell the whole story as many suicides are not recorded as such.

Please check out their website/ facebook page/ twitter etc and pass on the word......

PAPYRUS campaign, provide training and have a helpline. They intervene to prevent suicide - and are doing a fantastic job.

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
