The Nancies for sure - they're all a bit on the hefty side. I bet all the Josephs were under 5 foot 4 and held together with fake tan and hair gel.

To digress slightly, was anyone else terrified by Oliver Reed as Bill Sikes when they were little? Nearly as pant-wettingly scary as the Childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, who I still wouldn't like to find on my doorstep.

Of course Bill was scary. Oliver Reed I reckon was chosen for his scariness. Oliver! the musical was, despite the songs a fairly frightening film. How Bill murdered Nancy? Brutal. How Bill met his fate, equally so.

But just a piece of genius musical film-making altogether which is one of my favourite films.

I'm off to watch it now.
