Commercial property on the Rye

Does anyone know who owns the empty commercial unit next to the estate agents at the Barry Road/Rye junction? It used to be the Neighbourhood Vet. It seems to potentially have squatters in it but I am interested to know if there are any plans to develop it into something?

There have been various plans to develop the site with a mixed retail and residential development. It was last discussed on this forum back in April 2022 here:

Thank you! This is very helpful. Completely sympathetic to the objections to the size of the development and the supermarket (definitely not needed). I am on the lookout for a space suitable for community yoga classes. I have long thought this would be a perfect spot overlooking the park. I want to offer free community beginners classes, as well as advanced offerings in a social impact model. So if anyone hears of anything on this, please drop a comment! Thanks.

There are already so many community yoga classes within a five minute walk, I don’t think you’d get the income to cover the rent
