Tbh the dark interior of Vits and Kix is the reason I've never been in (though the food/drink offering seems appealing on paper) the very dark interior and neon sign feels a bit gimmicky and nightclubby to me,

I don't want to eat in a cocktail bar I want to drink cocktails in one.

Isn't a dark, moody interior the ideal cocktail bar and if that prejudiced you from going in to try the food, which is excellent buy the way, then sadly your loss.

Maybe try it first before dismissing it due to the intimate atmosphere 🤔

It was me who said it looked very dark in there, but I specifically said during the DAY. Which it did.

And I was clearly  referring to their old place in North Cross Road.

And I did eat in there. In the evening. When the darkness wasn't an issue. But sitting in the dark on a sunny day isn't my idea of the ideal setting for either a daytime  meal or drinks.

And yes, the food was good. As were the cocktails.

Looking forward to trying out their new place.

Does anyone know what is going in where God's Gift was? Looks to be under development.

Slightly out of area but worth a shout out is the little outdoor cafe opposite West Dulwich Station, corner of Belair park.... Stephanie's.  Great coffee and food and really excellent music, I can't tear myself away! It has a covered bit in case of rain.

Walked past builders working next to the Gails on Zenoria Street and inquired, it's apparently going to be a Falafel shop!

Amazing! We are also opening our private psychology and psychotherapy practice opposite Gail's on Zenoria Street in January. Circle Psychology Partners are already based in Dulwich and this will be our new base. Signage is up and we are painting this week!

It's open later on Friday nights too, and is a nice little spot that serves alcohol

Kakkapoo have just opened on Bellenden Road. The avocado and pistachios are nice. And the asparagus. You'll have to pay a little extra for diesel as it all comes from Peru. They accept cats and have promised to fold and close by next Monday.

    • Hi  My internet connection has dropped out for several hours a couple of times since Sunday (15th Feb). I’m with Sky and the engineer has been and replaced the connection and then booked an Openreach engineer who checked the line but at the time it was working. He said there had been several issues in our road (Oakhurst Grove) but was now fixed but this morning I’ve woken up to no internet again. Just wondered if anyone else is having the same problems.
    • Green Party policy on driver behaviour: Default 20mph Speed Limits: The party supports making 20 mph the default speed limit in all residential areas. 40mph Speed Limits: Proposing a default 40 mph speed limit in non-residential areas, excluding major roads. Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs): Promoting the expansion of LTNs to reduce "rat-running" in residential areas. Ending Internal Combustion Engine Sales: A target to end the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030. Environmental Charging: Implementing a Carbon Tax on fossil fuels to increase the cost of petrol and diesel, incentivizing a shift to electric vehicles or public transport. Prioritizing Active Travel: Shifting funding from road building to walking, cycling, and public transport infrastructure, aiming for 50% of trips in towns and cities to be made by these methods by 2030. Improved Driver Training: Supporting "eco-driving" techniques to reduce emissions and fuel usage.  Some of which is good, some unrealistic, and on driver behaviour doesn't go far enough. Difficult to summarise the Lib Dems position as it is a bit wishy washy wanting to appeal to both the eco warrior and the NIMBY.  Sadly I know people who are both! Labour (nationally) said that local measures are a local issue, which was quite sensible, after Sunak;s we are going to end the war on motorists last stand, but don't like upsetting hard working motorists for example chickening out on fuel duty rises.
