I know you said you wanted to stay local - but I have two tickets for Warhorse at the New London Theatre I can't use ( my wife s unwell). Face value for the two tickets ?117.00 but happy to take a donation toward cost so as not to see them go to waste. No 63 bus to E&C followed by 68 / 168 would get you close to the theatre for less than a fiver!

You could see what's going on at The Bussey Building on Rye Lane (google building). I was down that neck of the woods last night. Couple of glasses in Peckham Refreshment Room then popped my head into Bar Story. Was a great feel going on. Place was busy but not packed as they were using the outside space as well as the newish Peckham Springs bar area.

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
