Andros Townsend to Crystal Palace (?13m) with Dwight Gayle going in the other direction for ?10m. I hope they both do well at their new respective clubs. Definitely good business for the Palace. I like Townsend, thought he was a bit unlucky at Spurs but his strop at one of the coaches did for him there. He should definitely have gone to the Euros too.

They obvs want to make sure that they go out at the group stages of the next world cup.

Maybe that's the way forward, let the fans pick the team and formation, then hire a manager best suited.

This... exactly this. Don't watch it that much, but if more games were like that (and the fans weren't dickheads), I'd probably be hooked.


I don't mind that they were celebrating when England lost. If they used the England rivalry to spur them on, then fine. I wonder if the England players were watching the other matches together?

    • that's exactly what happened - Brickhouse were forced to close due to rent hike and then Gail's didn't move in until covid restrictions lifted and normality resumed. Gail's would have opened much sooner as they were lined up and able to offer the landlord much higher rents. Brickhouse was a local favourite
