In order to rate this win I am looking forward to seeing match of the day.


I don't like AVBs high defensive line and if some of Liverpool's goals were on the break against this high defence then I would probably say that Tottenham contributed to their own downfall esp as down to 10 for part of the game.


But nevertheless a notable scalp.


Anyway I'll wait and see.

I don't worry too much about the bet Otta. It just helps give me someone to support. Would be very happy to see Liverpool mount a real challenge this year as I grew up a Liverpool fan and many friends and family support them. Would be nice to see them back at the top in England esp with an unsung NI man at the helm too.

I could pick so many holes in our performance today but I really wouldn't know where to start and I don't want to make any excuses because there is no excuse for a performance like that. We were absolutely bloody awful and Liverpool were superb. It was embarrassing. I've not felt so angry after a game at WHL in a very very long time.

I want to keep the faith with AVB but if we lose against West Ham on Wednesday night then I will be shouting louder than anyone that he's got to go.


I want my Tottenham back.

It seems clear the high defence is a high risk strategy.



The Liverpool boss added: "We talked in the last couple of days about Tottenham that obviously the goalkeeper plays high and the back four play a high line, and Jordan's runs and Joe Allen's runs, particularly in the first half, were exceptional.

Answering your own posts Mac. Tut tut. Nevertheless, we can't play a high defensive line with someone like Michael Dawson in the back four because of his serious lack of pace. Dawson and Etienne Capoue (who's not really a centre back) were a makeshift pairing yesterday as we have so many injuries at the back. They played together like strangers. Playing Kyle Naughton at left back never works either. He was worse than useless yesterday, so bad he was taken off at half-time.


I've nothing against a high line but you need defenders with pace for it to work. Just look at Southampton, who play the same way - seems to work for them.


The only players who came out with any credit yesterday were Kyle Walker and Lewis Holtby and maybe Aaron Lennon. The rest of them were just bloody awful. a really bad day at the office. Unfortunately, we're having a few too many of those.

What I saw was 1) slow defenders and 2) big gaps between them. Liverpool crawled all over that strategy.


I didn't see the Liverpool Hull game - but I'd guess the Hull defence was packed and pool could not break it down?

Yep, he took it brilliantly, but he was totally on his own!


There were photos doing the rounds last night suggesting he may have gotten a little *ahem* over excited about it.

The early names being linked with replacing the Portuguese include current Russia boss and former England manager Fabio Capello, ex-Chelsea boss Roberto Di Matteo, Swansea boss Michael Laudrup and Tottenham's current technical director Franco Baldini.


Baldini is a surprise, it was him that bought in Lamela!..

      Dear Nature lovers - advice please. I am being harassed by a neighbour who doesn't like my standard of gardening which she calls 'messy'. (I have rewilded my garden with advice from the London Wildlife Trust and a gardening expert from The Times.) I have twice caught this neighbour and her husband pulling up my plants and damaging my trees. Plus she has photographed my house, and sent a dozen complaints to the Dulwich Estate about my plan to rewild the verge outside my property - approved by the Estate some 4 years ago in line with their stated policy of supporting biodiversity in and around Dulwich. What can I do to introduce these neighbours  to the benefits to us all of returning a portion of our gardens to nature?

      Have you tried Southwark's leisure centres? As a regular attendee at Peckham, Camberwell, The Castle and speaking to friends, the dance routines for all ages are similar to Silver ones. In addition Natty, Bianca and Isac are brilliant instructors.

      I've been there for lunch a few times and the home cooked asian food (as part of Sweat Dreams cafe) is genuinely great and a must try. I think the food side of the business has been slow to be noticed but people are now realising what is actually hidden in plain sight.  As for the Aroma Lab coffee ... it is excellent, they are very welcoming and friendly (and unpretentious!). This Australian coffee snob is mightily impressed!!

      Do you mean put out things like live mealworms for the parents to feed to the young? Or that the parents will eat the food you put out and therefore can save "wild" live food for the young rather than eating it themselves? On another matter, several weeks ago I moved my bird feeders to another part of my (very small) garden because the area they were in was totally scratched up by pigeons, and I lost several plants I had had for decades and was very fond of 😭 It is now just bare earth with no plants,  and I've got to start again. And block up a fox hole in one corner. I suspect the foxes are tunnelling beneath the garden, as there are several holes. I hope the ground doesn't suddenly collapse beneath me! I cleaned everything and put in fresh seed, but so far all that has visited the new area (that I have actually seen)  is one rather fat sparrow. And a cat. Sitting hopefully beneath the feeders 🤬 No goldfinches (I have a niger seed feeder and have seen the occasional goldfinch in the garden) and no tits, though I've heard both blue tits and great tits nearby. Plus the flock of sparrows who used to come and seem to have deserted the garden. Hopefully they will find the feeders. I've cut back some of the greenery, which doesn't help, as they have less shelter.
