I really don't see it that way RD

Arsenal shot themselves in the foot at home (again) and performed decently away. Nothing invincible about BM

It's the sort of fixture that can transform the Moyes era if they pull it off

Going to be some cracking tv over these matches

I'm going to embrace the underdog role BR, it's a win win situation ;-)

SJ is right, until Arsenal went down to 10 men they more than held their own. The first leg is key, if we go out gung ho they'll just pick us off, a low scoring draw would set up the 2nd leg nicely...

Due to the lightheadness of drawing Bayern, forgot to ask earlier, what did you mean exactly?..

Yeah if we had lost game 50 to say... Derby playing like that I'd get it

It is a backhanded compliment but it still irks. Teenage Rooney and vanN. I think it sowed the seed of doubt in arsenal teams to this day. So you can definitely say it was worth it from a united perspective

But I do think less of Man U because of it as well

Anyone got an opinion on Boyd's 3 match ban for spitting at Joe Hart? (BR I'd be interested in your take).

First of all, he dived, no question. But I thought Hart's reaction was out of order, and I thought when I first saw it on MOTD, that looks really bad in slow mo, but he's basically shouting in Hart's face, he hasn't gobbed at him.

I still think that, and was surprised he got the ban.

Don't you think the previous year's fixture at OT might have something to do with their approach? Van the man got a lot of stick and players from both side got bans as a result of it (more from Arsenal). So regardless of what might have been at stake it was going to be feisty.

That's a bit like saying England are from London. I could only think of Ajax and that was stretching it a bit.

As for the Wanderers....they have reformed and play at Belair Park in some Surrey league. Any other Wanderers would just be a fake imitation......

England player escapes ban in World Cup year shocker.

I agree that Boyd didn't deliberatey spit at Hart.

Do the FA ever give a written explanation as to how the independent panel arives at a judgement?

If not, it would help...

I'm talking about Woolwich Wanderers, the club they call the Arsenal.

Going back to SJ's thing about Reyes getting roughed up. He couldn't hack British football. He'd go over with a gust of wind. He was an easy target. It's no wonder he soon went back to Spain. They've been plenty of Arsenal players over the years who could cut it rough if they wanted to.

    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
    • Closing down completely. The lovely people there are all retiring. Thanks, but Deptford is a long way to go to make two journeys to  take and collect a car! Do they not do even relatively minor repairs if it fails its MOT first time? Then that would require four journeys 😭 Wondering if there's already a thread on here for garage recommendations? People on my road WhatsApp group have recommended some local ones. I'm particularly gutted because apart from the lovely people who worked there,  Dell was a five minute walk for me!
    • I did think that might be the reason, but five years out of seven it's going to be a weekday (I think. Not sure how leap years might affect things!)
    • Probably because the 5th was a weekday. We still have the weekend to come. Also, some fireworks going off nearly every night for the last few months. Last night something was being let off that made a very deep booming noise every 10 seconds or so. That said, if the general public are beginning to see the harm done by firework noise and choosing to use low noise options and refusing to support organised events that still use the full throttle type, I for one would be very happy. Does anyone know if the Herne Hill Velodrome Halloween fireworks event used low noise options?
