RE Boyd, hard to say as I wasn't in the vicinity. Boyd clearly dived and Joe had a go, was it just and angry altercation and spittle flew ? I don't know but 3 three independent referees [who don't meet each other, just chosen at random by FA and sent video evidence to make their own judgement] They deemed it spitting on purpose.

George Best was small and boy was he targeted. That was because of how good he was. In the particular game you refer to, Keane wasn't even playing. If he was then perhaps a lot of hairstyles would have been put out of place.

Can I have a go? - I agree with you. One aspect of BT Sport coverage which is starting to annoy me is they seem desperate to find and provoke conflict, even more than Shreeves at Sky, and they were going right at this.

Shouty emotional people who've been running around may eject spittle - I don't think he spat though and it should have been left as the ref saw it. Hart leant in, but didn't nut, leave it to the ref.

Genuinely thought Liverpool might do a Liverpool and ness today up after a great result kast week. After so many years of their inconsistency it's hard to believe they might have actually learnt to grind out results. Comfortable in the end, but first half had me biting my nails.
Liverpool are definitely benefitting by not having to play in the Europa League. I'm not using that as an excuse for how shite Spurs are but I think it is an advantage over other teams who have had to participate in that competition. I'm rather hoping we finish 8th this season.

Yeah I don't think any red would deny that not being in Europe at this stage is probably a benefit. And any other cup for that matter.

At the end if the day, reds (me very much included) are dreaming of a league win right now, but 4th was the target at the beginning of the season, and it looked a big ask before a ball was kicked. So whatever happens now it's been a very successful season.

But I am really really starting to think we have a chance...

You probably won't get a better chance Ots. Next season you will definitely be in the CL, and unless you beef up your squad substantially over the summer, I can't see you having such a good season again. But whatever happens this season, both yourselves and Arsenal have had good seasons PL wise.

I'm with Jah on the EL, I don't care if some fans think it's disrespecting the competition, I don't want Utd in it.

Hands off Jah, 8th place is ours!...

I think that's probably a fair summary. We don't have much depth at this stage and whilst I think we will strengthen, the CL will be a big distraction assuming we get to the latter stages.

Still think we've got an uphill struggle, but in our (well the players) own hands with home fixtures so long as we can keep winning games like today.

Am I the only one who saw Jah The Man step/stagger out of a retro Mercedes outside the EDT Saturday afternoon...wearing the scarf of his new fav team.

Unfortunately it was six of one and none of the other.

    • I think the Brixton Pound lives on, so there must be some kind of appetite for it, but I'm afraid I doubt it would be very useful for me.
    • My primary issue is the noise level and the fact that it begins at dusk and continues well into the early hours, the odd random bang being possibly the worst aspect as you never know when the next volley will occur. This is no longer about celebrating a turning point as the clock strikes 12am, but more a lengthy indulgence in ear shattering bangs, where there also seems to be competition as to who can create the loudest most startling barrage of sustained noise. A new thing is daytime fireworks, where buyers are urged to forget the visual aspect and focus on getting the biggest bang for their buck. I am lucky as I am not super sensitive to noise but I really feel for those who are. As for pets, I am afraid there are now many that require serious medication to get them through- and those meds are not cheap. The fault here is not with the animals or people sensitive to extreme bangs, but with those who insist on their right to impose it on all around them, not just for half an hour a few times a year, but for hours on customary dates and now  spreading to random events throughout the year.I  New Year fireworks is a very recent construct, and now Halloween Fireworks are becoming a thing. Why should we encourage and condone a proliferating societal noise addiction? It really is isn't healthy. Let those who wish to damage their eardrums enjoy their pastime through headphones; they can turn the volume up as high as they like.  If last night was the end of it then that is great but I think there'll be more through the weekend and more discarded jumbo firework boxes dumped in the park. I hope we follow other countries in adopting low noise fireworks and drone shows instead.
    • NYE is always like this. If you’re concerned about your pets, please consider seeing a vet as they can help. We give our dog valerian and play calming music, which helps especially after long walks and a big dinner. If it’s for yourself, it’s one night, so also suggest seeing your doctor for advice.  It is loud, although more predictable ( kept to evening:to midnight) than Guy Fawkes celebrations which go on for days and are arguably selfish and inconsiderate. Either way, it’s a very difficult time for many.
    • Thanks Rowan! Well done you have done amazing on your fitness journey. Happy New Year EDF and all my wonderful clients whom I've had the pleasure to train this year. I'm looking forward to 2026 🙌🎊
