Hmmm.... what happened to those rape allegations against him?

Poor Lambert :-(

I can't help but think Liverpool have done exactly what Spurs did last season, sold their best player/top goal scorer and so far have failed to replace him. Yes they've bought in other players, but are any of them going to replicate the 30+ goals which got Liverpool Champions League football? Lambert was bought as a 'Plan B' option, whether Suarez stayed or not. They should be looking at strikers much better than Remy, he's hardly set the world alight at QPR or Newcastle. If he was top quality he wouldn't have ended up going out on loan to the Toon, nothing to do with wage demands etc...

liverpool are in the same difficult position that spurs were in- you just can't adequately replace bale or suarez. The ?40m+ players only tend to go to the very biggest clubs (suarez, rodriguez) or are happy at their current clubs or simply not for sale (muller, neymar, messi, ronaldo, ibrahimovic, cavani, falcao etc).

There just aren't top top players available at around the ?30m mark.

I'm not so sure Ots, it's good news for Toffees that they signed Lukaku and Barry, and have kept Barkley, but all they've done is kept the status quo of their squad from last season, whereas I expect all the other teams around them will improve their squads significantly with new signings...

Not the first footballer to get handy with a woman, but very glad he's spending some time in custody which will hopefully show him that he's not untouchable just because he's an overpaid footballer.

The fact someone like SAF didn't fancy controlling him does say quite a lot.

    • £30-40 for M&S Christmas food for two seems very low! And only £60 for food and drink for 8-10 people?  We have had M&S food at Christmas in the past, and it came to a lot more than that. I suppose it depends exactly what you are buying. We left it late to book a Christmas Day meal out last year, so there weren't many options left.  The Cherry Tree menu looked very nice. That was our first mistake. We also overlooked the fact that it was a Young's pub, with all that implies about the food. That was our second mistake. We don't have shedloads of money. We  took the view that we deserved a nice meal  out after working bloody hard all year. So it was doubly disappointing to basically waste a lot of money which could have been very much better  spent elsewhere.
    • No sweetheart. It is a fantastic sermon which should be shared. It is a rights-based sermon which received a standing ovation - if you can be bothered to get to the end.
    • Welcome back. What have voting intentions got to do with this thread? And much as you may hate the present incarnation of so-called Labour, as do I,  I don't think it is true that they have "not done a single positive thing for working class people", is it? And how exactly are you defining "working class people", anyway?
    • I can’t bear the media “is this racist comment racist” angle taken to reporting it. I feel like she’s a useful out rider for Farage to test how far they can take their rhetoric - it’s not the first time she’s said things that cross over the line. Overt racism is becoming far more commonplace and it’s deeply concerning.
