I wouldn't get too carried away as an Arsenal fan about the result. It was fun, and it's better than losing it, and it keeps the optimism at the club going

But it is what it is - a meaningless tie, made worse these days by major teams spending summer on far flung tours and not being "ready"

I take PD's point about if we lost we woulld have been criticised after money spent, but we could brush that criticism off easily. The real games start next week

Now, having said all that - the fixture still gives me a tingle every year. It's like the lights going down and hearing the intro tape at the start of a gig - "here we go...."

Absolutely. Chambers looked really good yesterday, not overawed at all. And nobody is getting carried away, but I'd rather win any game than lose it. Yes?

Honest? Hmmm. He said it wasn't all about money, so if he hadn't been offered more by City would he have gone anyway? I some how doubt it. The only player in recent years that actually left for less money was Cesc.

He made his mistakes of course, but who hasn't. Even with that "problem" he deserved to beat Argentina and get to a world cup QF in my opinion, with 10 men and a good record preceeding that.

Jeez - If I were English I have had him back in a flash ahead of Steve McLaren or Hodgson

Edited to say - his comments about disability being punishments deserved to get him the sack and if he still believes this sh1t then I'd guess he'd fail any interview.

Am I reading too much into this or do Legia sound quietly confident.

"Legia Warsaw would like to thank the UEFA disciplinary bodies for the prompt organisation of the appeal procedure.

"At the same time, we would like to inform you that until the official decision of the UEFA appeal body is announced the club will not issue any further communication."

REPORTS in the Polish Press say Legia Warsaw have lost their appeal over their Champions League KO to Celtic.

A leading Polish newspaper today reported that the Poles? appeal had been thrown out meaning Celtic WILL face Maribor in next week?s Champions League play-off round first leg.

What heinous crime did Legia commit to get bounced, and did it contribute to the battering they dished out to Celtic?

    • Generally speaking, some medium size market towns and lesser cities always seem more  prone to random violence and aggro generally than anywhere I’ve been in London
    • Familiarity is important, I lived near Brixton in the old days and was fairly comfortable, but for many years avoided Peckham.  That has reversed in the last 15 years.   I recall around Dalston and the A10 and burned out cars.  Now super trendy. Pub violence has largely gone but that was groups of men getting drunk on Saturday night and brawling.  Similarly little football violence, East Dulwich/West Peckham was edgy last century.
    • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   Rod comes highly recommended. He recently completed a challenging job in my garden, fox-proofing an outhouse using a large amount of hardcore and slate. The work involved a great deal of effort, but Rod handled it with professionalism and care from start to finish.   He specialises in working with stone, and it really shows in the quality of his work. He is also an incredibly hard worker, tackling the project with determination and skill. Throughout, he was responsive and reliable, always keeping me updated and communicating clearly.   I really appreciated the practical advice he offered along the way, which showed both his experience and his commitment to doing the job properly. On top of all that, his pricing was very reasonable, and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with.   If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, hardworking, and knowledgeable, Rod is an excellent choice.
