Otta
I'm not demeaning the result at all, it was a great result for Arsenal. I'm just saying I don't get excited about the CS anymore, whereas I used to be well up for it, whoever was playing. Seabag
I'm kinda with you Otta, generally I couldn't give a toss re the CS. But, just nice to see your team play well, cup or no cup Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/35029-football-focus/page/133/#findComment-772792 Share on other sites
StraferJack
I wouldn't get too carried away as an Arsenal fan about the result. It was fun, and it's better than losing it, and it keeps the optimism at the club goingBut it is what it is - a meaningless tie, made worse these days by major teams spending summer on far flung tours and not being "ready"I take PD's point about if we lost we woulld have been criticised after money spent, but we could brush that criticism off easily. The real games start next weekNow, having said all that - the fixture still gives me a tingle every year. It's like the lights going down and hearing the intro tape at the start of a gig - "here we go...." And nobody is getting carried away, but I'd rather win any game than lose it. Yes? StraferJack
DefinitelyEspecially pleasing, as you say, to wipe the smirk off Nasri's faceHe was being honest, and that's admirable but equally, tact is an admirable trait too Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/35029-football-focus/page/133/#findComment-772799 Share on other sites
Mick Mac
Bring back Bremner and Keegan. It meant something to them. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/35029-football-focus/page/133/#findComment-772805 Share on other sites

Hmmm. He said it wasn't all about money, so if he hadn't been offered more by City would he have gone anyway? I some how doubt it. The only player in recent years that actually left for less money was Cesc. Mick Mac
I'm amazed that no club would have offered Hoddle a management role outright. He was quite successful. ????
The reasons they'd give would be baggage, out of the game too long, etc but tend to agree. There where rumours about West Ham towards the end of last season but we're not over fond of that lot at the Lane Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/35029-football-focus/page/133/#findComment-773386 Share on other sites

Even with that "problem" he deserved to beat Argentina and get to a world cup QF in my opinion, with 10 men and a good record preceeding that. Jeez - If I were English I have had him back in a flash ahead of Steve McLaren or HodgsonEdited to say - his comments about disability being punishments deserved to get him the sack and if he still believes this sh1t then I'd guess he'd fail any interview. Mick Mac
Am I reading too much into this or do Legia sound quietly confident. "Legia Warsaw would like to thank the UEFA disciplinary bodies for the prompt organisation of the appeal procedure."At the same time, we would like to inform you that until the official decision of the UEFA appeal body is announced the club will not issue any further communication." Mick Mac
And as Andy Gray says "at 71 minutes and 1-0, Arsenal are 18 minutes from Champions League glory." But time for me to go to bed.
