Yes I've seen a lot worse, cheers Terry Neil & Bruce Rioch, but in recent times we've been constantly promised better things, and they've not materialised. We've bought Ozil and Sanchez granted, but in my view, they are players we didn't really need, and we have far greater needs, a central defender, defensive midfielder and a striker. The club hasn't been honest with the fans for years, and enough is enough. And yes I know football is a business, so as a business if you charge premier prices I expect premier players, and I haven't seen that at Arsenal especially since the move to the new ground.

yes we are charging more that most (all?) but nor do we have the squillionaire backers like City or Chelsea so we do what we can


Man Utd are taking a massive gamble on their current signings - if they don't get CL next season, they are going to fnid it very hard to make the numbers add up


I don't understand why Arsenal didn't sign a couple of defensive players before yesterday but I somehow doubt it didn't occur to the club - it didn't happen because it didn't happen. So now the season has started we can concentrate on the bleedin football



We will be fine - we will live...enjoy the life you have chosen instead of getting so angry about a bunch of millionaires who you have zero control over

Easy to say, but the club has been part of my life since 1968, and the fact that it's now run by millionaires with little or no love or understanding of the game,that's what really pisses me off. Peoples game my arse.

You don't have to - the Arsenal model has already failed for 8 seasons - that's prob what PD means by having had enough.


Sometimes SJ I think you should try getting really pissed off about your teams lack of achievement and show us you are a real fan.

I LOVE living in a world where grown men spend 24 hours spouting bile and shite online (not PD specifically here - any football forum or social media outlet)


In no way does it make me feel like the planet is screwed because grown, adult human beings can't get some perspective about something so STOOPID and inconsequential as football


You think PD et al are just venting and they'll be fine tomorrow? Nope - too many eggs in one basket for that..

I disagree - I keep saying it but compared to the forces we are up against financially, we are balanced and well-placed. Once Wenger goes, we will likely tumble into the mediocrity that PD thinks we are now

I think Welbeck could do well if allowed to play as a striker, and Arsenal fans I know seem to think so too.


Bit you (SJ) are the only one I know that isn't feeling a bit disappointed having seen other strikers moving to other clubs for not huge amounts of money.

Permit me for saying so but I think SJ has made some very fair points. I'm not a fan of Welbeck but I think he'll do a good job at Le Arse. The Professor will turn him into a much better player.


The comparison if you want it PD is at Man Utd. They have spent an absolute fortune in this window. The risk is immense. Falcao is a really huge expensive gamble. Rumoured to have a dodgy knee, on astronomical wages and no real creative quality in midfield to supply him.


I'm fairly happy with our buys at Spurs. I loved Sandro and am a little sad to see him go but since his injuries he has lost a lot of his mobility. The fact only QPR were in for him says a lot. Stambouli looks like an excellent purchase as a replacement and a lot cheaper than Schiederlin would have cost.

I believe Monaco are paying a fair chunk of his wages and I suspect the gamble was due to United not being sure about RVP's fitness. I think if they play a 3-0-7 formation they can bypass the need for creativity in the middle and just score goals up the top end.

But the point Jah, is, as I've said before, we didn't actually NEED these guys. No question they are quality, but we should have spent the money on players to fill positions we most needed filling, CB, DM, and a striker. Wellbeck may prove me wrong, but the other two positions have not been properly sorted, and that's been the case for a while.

From nowt to two down to one again - the Guidetti deal fell through.

Must be nice signing a striker who didn't want to go to you, and then only changed his mind when a deal to go to Getafe collapsed!

      Its a few years ago now, but I organised my end of year prom (for year 13) at Off the Cuff in Herne Hill - was on the cheaper side to rent and at that age, felt very cool and clubby. I had my own 18th at Whirled Cinema in Loughborough Junction but I'm not sure if they take event bookings like that anymore

      You are right . It isn't going to change him for the better. Sending such a negative message is potentially counter-productive. Trump is narcissistic, arrogant, unpredictable, spiteful, divisive, and dishonest, with a penchant for a total a disregard for democratic norms.  He is one who bears a grudge so there's a case to be made for not offending him as he could react with a bunch of  adverse actions  such as  deciding to increase import tariffs on UK exports to the US.

      In 2016 London City Airport began using concentrated flight paths. When there's a predominantly westerly wind, incoming aircraft approach from East London (north of the River). When there's a predominantly Easterly wind, incoming aircraft approach the airport from the West: circling through Forest Hill, Dulwich, Vauxhall, Tower Hamlets, Docklands. This latter flight path affects many of us in South East London. https://www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/what-london-assembly-does/questions-mayor/find-an-answer/london-city-airport-concentrated-flight-paths The planes going into City are often below 2,000 ft, so very noisy. Sometimes we have incoming Heathrow at the same time, flying higher. The early flights that I hear e.g. 04:30 are incoming to Heathrow. They are scheduled to land at 05:30 but are 'early'. Apparently the government allows a percentage of flights to arrive early and late (but these are now established as regular occurrences, informally part of the schedule). IMHO Londoners are getting very poor political representation on this issue. Incredible that if you want to complain about aircraft noise, you're supposed to contact the airport concerned! Preposterous and designed solely in favour of aviation expansion.
