Did you watch the video RD? there were some fantastic goals that WERE recorded. I was surprised at how many quality goals there were, albeit over a long career.

He was two footed RD. I remember one goal against Leicester City (not in the edit) in 1968 where he left four players on their arse and rounded a young Peter Shilton that was as good if not better than the ones in the edit. Oh and he got a hat-trick that day too. His third of the season. Scored four in a cup-tie four days later too where the headline in the paper the next day that I remember clearly was Four Goals Can't Equal One Cap. There was a big push to get him back in the England team ("Jimmy For England") but Ramsey wasn't having it despite the fact he'd again finished as top scorer in the country with 36 goals that season.

The Telegraph had an article today looking back to a frozen Maine Road of 9 December 1967 when Man City beat Spurs 4-1. It was a performance that led City to believe they could win the league after 30 odd years. Ballet on ice.

And I just checked today's result....

I could of course once my older brother explained how league tables worked. It was goal average in those days Mick so a lot of maths was involved. There was a classic league cup semi-final over two legs with City that year I think. City won I know. Anyway my name is Alan here. I'm old.

Indeed - lots of Shearer-like "where's the sack Sam brigade now?" fishermen around as usual.

Cresswell and Jenkinson going really well (surely Wenger must be regretting the loan?) along with Sakho and Valencia - I would even go so far as to suggest CC has been transformed a tad by being in a glut of strikers rather than just being a Carroll replacement - never seen him with so much energy and enthusiasm.

When Carroll recovers (sigh) sell and use cash to buy some back-ups or try him in actual game?

And okay, last 2 games WERE only QPR and Burnley - still nice to look down on gooners, spurs, Liverpool etc..

I considered it a bad move to sack him for a long time. Perhaps Shearer is me-like as I haven't heard his opinion on the subject. It's you WH fans on here who should be eating a bit of pie/cake.

Did anyone see the picture of Steve Bruce taken on the tube yesterday after the game? Trying to catch a train to Manchester to get to BFS's party.
