BFS has been told to change his ways by West Ham's board because of the threat of 1000s of West Ham fans not paying nearly a ?1000 quid a season to watch dog sh1t football. West Ham's change in style, transfer business and current success is mainly becuase of all the 'moaning' fans. Smug millionairre pundits who get everything in football for free haven't a fooking clue.....Robbie Savage never has but the rest are absolutely clueless on this too.

This.

ok I looked. I have to disagree with pretty much eevrything he said.

'There is this preconception with West Ham fans that Big Sam is a survivalist who tells teams to boot the ball up the pitch.

'The truth is that he stayed up with a team of very average players. That?s management. He drew the best from them.'

in other words he's a survivalist who got them to boot it up the pitch.

I hope that before I die someone can explain the 'West Ham way'? I never came up against a Hammers side who played football I was afraid of

well he's mistaking the west ham way with winning ways, which is why he doesnt understand the west ham way.

Plus I saw a dozen games where they were the lucky ones, where we lost in an entertaining encounter rather than a bloodless encounter with negative defensive football where we accept the inevitable.

In fact hasn't Sam famously never beaten fergie with any side he's managed?

On the subject of books, I see Bryan Robson had a little dig at that nice man Roy Keane regarding the content of his current opus, and has questioned the need for ex and current players to publish such provocative material. The answer is quite simple, money dear Bryan.

For once I'm saying nothing - except that I agree with what Quids and EP said.

And that I wonder if things would have turned out the same if Carroll (and later Nolan) hadn't been injured and whether aerial tactics will resume once Carroll returns in a couple of weeks or so. On past experience we only need to get mullahed once for BFS to revert to type.

the more i think about it the more annoyed i get.

He says we haven't won anything since 1980, but is fully aware that we exist in a different football dimension since then. One where resources count for everything and small clubs simply can't compete. He knows that back then our academy made a difference, but know its a means to staying afloat, and given that from Ince to Carrick his success has capatalised on our desperation, his comments smack of utter hypocrisy. fecking prick.

I'm guessing its a revised version as a favour to his mate Sam, or just because he hates the fans for enjoying pooping on his parade so often.

Yeah, you exist in a different dimension but you guys seem to expect to play like Barcelona/Real Madrid or whoever is the in vogue team. Now you are high up in the league you even seem to hate that because of your manager.Madrid change managers almost every season. It not about the manager alone it's about the resources the club has at it's disposal.

    • Post much better this Xmas.  Sue posted about whether they send Xmas cards; how good the post is,  is relevant.  Think I will continue to stay off Instagram!
    • These have reduced over the years, are "perfect" lives Round Robins being replaced by "perfect" lives Instagram posts where we see all year round how people portray their perfect lives ?    The point of this thread is that for the last few years, due to issues at the mail offices, we had delays to post over Christmas. Not really been flagged as an issue this year but I am still betting on the odd card, posted well before Christmas, arriving late January.
    • Two subjects here.  Xmas cards,  We receive and send less of them.  One reason is that the cost of postage - although interestingly not as much as I thought say compared to 10 years ago (a little more than inflation).  Fun fact when inflation was double digits in the 70s cost of postage almost doubled in one year.  Postage is not a good indication of general inflation fluctuating a fair bit.  The huge rise in international postage that for a 20g Christmas card to Europe (no longer a 20g price, now have to do up to 100g), or a cheapskate 10g card to the 'States (again have to go up to the 100g price) , both around a quid in 2015, and now has more than doubled in real terms.  Cards exchanged with the US last year were arriving in the New Year.  Funnily enough they came much quicker this year.  So all my cards abroad were by email this year. The other reason we send less cards is that it was once a good opportunity to keep in touch with news.  I still personalise many cards with a news and for some a letter, and am a bit grumpy when I get a single line back,  Or worse a round robin about their perfect lives and families.  But most of us now communicate I expect primarily by WhatApp, email, FB etc.  No need for lightweight airmail envelope and paper in one.    The other subject is the mail as a whole. Privitisation appears to have done it no favours and the opening up of competition with restrictions on competing for parcel post with the new entrants.  Clearly unless you do special delivery there is a good chance that first class will not be delivered in a day as was expected in the past.   Should we have kept a public owned service subsidised by the tax payer?  You could also question how much lead on innovation was lost following the hiving off of the national telecommunications and mail network.
    • Why have I got a feeling there was also a connection with the beehive in Brixton on that road next to the gym
