Agreed, but if he plays will Roy use him in his new central role? Picking Carrick is a strange one, just come back from longish injury and when he's picked him for the squad in the past, he's hardly ever played him. Maybe Roy has serious doubts about Wilshere in the DM role...

What are these essentials? IMO the main essential to be successful in the modern game is an owner with deep pockets who's willing to put his hands in them, and/or a large commercial revenue stream, neither of which Newcastle have got.

Also helps not to sell your best player and not replace him e.g. Cabaye...

Don't know what papers you were reading but City and their fans (lack of) got an absolute pasting from the media...

Well at least they have a striker who can score goals, perhaps your shower might want to stick in a ridiculous bid and add him to the the other players you've over paid for?

      Thanks very much for that.   I think the better informed we are, the better our discussions will be.       Anywhere near the Overground/Windrush due to its excellent transport links.  You will get larger place in SE23 for example that will give you enough spare cash for private school if that's what you really want but states schools generally good, reflecting the demographic  Easy to get to the bustling streets of East Dulwich but in ten years see what happens to Forest Hill centre.  The whole of the area is full of green spaces. Access to East Croydon for days out in the South Coast

      Could East Dulwich or Forest Hill work? Some properties on Underhill Road and Wood Vale have large gardens e.g.  https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/161079866#/?channel=RES_BUY  You'd be close to the Horniman, Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye. Transport might not be what you're looking for though e.g. a 15 minute walk to Forest Hill station for the East London line or mainline into London Bridge.
