I think United finishing 4th is an improvement not an achievement. Are you now getting your kicks out of finishing ahead of United in 3rd? Times haven't changed that much but with maybe 2 or 3 quality players Arsenal will be title contenders like they used to be. Same for United. Jeez I'd rather Arsenal win the league than Chelsea any day as they can play football that's great to watch.

As for Barca possibly winning a treble, I would argue that the Spanish league is easier to play in as there are less high intensity games than in England. They also won the Copa Del Rey playing at home. Madrid wouldn't allow the final to be played in their ground.

By the way, where is the evidence of Yanited 'laughing at Arsenal'?

What Alan said and shouldn't you be rejoicing in your victory rather than having a go at your rivals?

Now, here's a thing you won't see too much of - a Spurs fan praising the Arsenal - I thought your team did yourselves proud yesterday. It's refreshing that a top club like Arsenal take the FA Cup seriously, it has not been forgotten in some quarters that Man United once opted out of the competition to pursue the World Club Championship and were knocked out early against lowly opposition this season.

I'd like to congratulate Arsene Wenger on his six triumphs in the competition, a feat that I very much doubt will be equalled by many others and one in the eye for those so-called football fans, many of whom who support the club, that his time was up (yourself included PD, if I recall correctly). And what a goal from Sanchez, a magnificent strike worthy of winning such a prestigious competition or any other come to think of it. It has to be said though that Aston Villa apart from not turning up, simply weren't good enough. Anyway, congratulations and enjoy your gloating, especially at work on Monday.

*Nurse, the screens please*

You're forgetting the context Jah. The FA pressed Utd to go to the WCC in order to boost England's WC 2006 bid...

Who? What? Where?...

There isn't any. Wenger got pilloried by the press for once suggesting that finishing 4th was akin to winning a trophy when pressed why his club hadn't won a trophy for such a long time... http://www.theguardian.com/football/2012/feb/19/arsene-wenger-arsenal-fourth-place

Much respect to Jah and his comments, what with him being a Spurs fan and all that

I'm very happy as a Gooner to see our club win so decisively yesterday. I'm also glad it's a London club and only wish I could have taken my son to the parade

As for this ball achingly knocking of other clubs, FFS enjoy the moment & grow up. It's a beautiful game that needs teams to play it

Another year with no old firm league games. I was actually hoping Rangers would come up this time but it looked comfortable for Motherwell.

There is even reference to a "stramash" at the end. What a great word.

FT: Motherwell 3-0 Rangers (Agg: 6-1)

Posted at 16:55

Disgraceful scenes at the final whistle as Rangers substitute Bilel Mohsni clashes in an ugly scene with Motherwell striker Lee Erwin, After what seems like an exchange of words, Erwin pushes Mohsni in the back and the Tunisian reacts by launches a kick then a punch at the Motherwell man's head. There's then a good old-fashioned stramash by a group of players as Motherwell fans invade the pitch to celebrate.

Not like the players are setting an example.

    • Dishing the dirt is generally fine when it comes to politicians and in Farage's case he often deserves it but  nothing illegal  has been done. It is not illegal for him to give his partner a sizeable amount of money with which to buy a house and have it registered in her name. He is 64 years old and his partner is 16 years younger and so he most likely is making plans to minimise IHT. There is a sliding scale for IHT but basically a gift is free of IHT if the gift is made 7 years before the donor dies. Farage is 64 years old and his partner is 16 years younger. In 7 years time, if he lives that long, he will be 71 years old. Given that he smokes like a chimney and drinks like a fish, his odds on getting beyond 71  years may be pretty slim.  A similar  process is followed by the "bank of mum and dad"  where parents  give money to their kids to fund purchase of a property. Many who are not cash rich will mortgage their home and so release equity to fund their kids property. We did it as have many of our friends.
