It's the traditional curtain-raiser Charity Shield this weekend, so that means it's also pre-season prediction time.

On present squads I can't see any change in the top 4, but it will be much tighter than last season, so I'll plump for...wait for it...Arsenal!...followed by Chelsea, Utd, then City. Liverpool, who despite having bought well, will be hampered by the Europa League and will stay in 5th, and unless Spurs do some great business before the transfer window closes, will be a distant 6th.

At the other end of the table, in the season before the big TV money kicks-in, I expect there'll be lots of jittery, trigger happy chairmen, and a couple of big names to go down...Newcastle and Villa, along with Watford.

I think West Ham will struggle, but their fans will be happy...allegedly

Come on AqM you cant just suddenly be a Swan or a Gooner or anything else. It has to be in your blood. :)

And When Millwall go back up you still gonna support Swansea when the meet at the Den. ? :)

What do the Swans sing.

I don't even think you'd get particularly good odds on that, he's definitely the manager under most pressure going in to this season.

Still expect us to finish comfortably above Spurs though.

WISH Rogers would TRY Benteke and Balotelli up front as a partnership, because Balotelli works well with a partner and I still think we could get something out of him, but Rogers won't because he "knows best"...

This made me laugh. Collins getting sent off for WH last night in the same week he was quoted/interviewed in the Standard that we 'must be more professional' referring to the two previous sendings off in the Europa Marathon Cup/League type thing. Someone will say I'm anti WH which just isn't true. It's just funny.

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
