Oh right, because that's what you meant!

Surely you guys know by now that Rooney needs game time to get up to speed after he has had an injury. When he's at his best he has been playing regularly. At his best he is very good. Certainly good enough for the England team. However, if he is to reach his peak he will be played in the opener and the rest. If England make the last 16 and he has played 3 games, he can have no excuses for not performing thereafter. Hopefully he won't have to be carried until then.

Exactly this - the trick is surprising other teams with those 2 plus Lambert, Barkely and Ox-Chamberlain - let them think Rooney and Lampard and Gerrard are the key men and it could work.

He'll be far too busy coming up with a new (and possibly 'Chelski/CSKFulham'-related) term of abuse.

Might I suggest 'bum-cloth'?*

    • How will you vote at the Spring Conference when they put forward their motion that it is "racism" for Jews to want to live in a sovereign state on their own ancestral homeland?
    • I'm sure one can always find things which a party or an individual within it could have done better or shouldn't have said. If one was going to use those things as a reason not to support the party, one would never support any party, and would never vote. So far as I am concerned, the Greens represent my views on most issues better than any other party that I am currently aware of. I really am not interested in dissecting the details of one or two specific instances,  for many reasons, not least that I have no direct knowledge of them and don't know what may be a reliable source.
