Recommended cabinet maker / carpenter - Nick Broughton

Recommended Posts

Nick has just completed alcove shelving and cabinets in our sitting room, and a very large built in wardrobe (with draws) in our bedroom for us.  He was fantastic all the way through, from helping us work out the best design to the high quality of the build and we found him simply lovely to work with.  He is a local business and we highly recommend him.

Another recommendation for Nick. Copying below the review I have just left for him on Google:

We don’t usually leave reviews for people online but are making an exception for Nick. He made fitted wardrobes for our loft conversion and did an absolutely fantastic job. The wardrobes are beautiful. Nick is passionate about producing a quality product, and also one that is bespoke to his clients’ needs. He guided us through the design to establish how we would actually use the space and built something that is fantastic. From start to finish the process was quick and each day he and his assistant Sean left the space tidy. I’m not sure we are easy people to please so the fact we are leaving a 5* review (indeed leaving a review at all) speaks volumes about what a great job Nick (and Sean) did. Nick also built a cupboard for our downstairs bathroom as part of the job and again it is brilliant. We would recommend them to anybody.

adding one more review below!

We contracted Nick and his team (https://broughtonbespoke.co.uk. 07815873373) to custom-build two bespoke cabinets: one large and complex L-shaped unit for the living room, and a smaller one for the dining room. As we had just redecorated and both cabinets would be in prominent positions, it was important to us that they looked perfect and matched the style of our rooms. Nick and his team did a fantastic job — from clear communication and timeliness to the quality of the finished products.

They took great care in the construction, and while the process took time, the results were absolutely worth it. In our case, both cabinets were designed and built on site, after which the outer shells were taken away for professional spray painting – the whole process took about two weeks.

We couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I would not hesitate to hire Nick again and wholeheartedly recommend him and his team for any job — whether simple or complex, large or small.

    • Doesn't surprise me that you expressed your appreciation of foxes. You feel strongly about them, fine. Perhaps they don't leave a nightly pile of poo in your garden or you don't need to deal with it. Life is too short to argue the point. I have neighbours who feed the foxes and tell me the rubbish  they feed them. Foxes are wild creatures, by feeding them [people are making them reliant on humans to feed them. I guess they don't have to clear up their nightly mess. It actually becomes a tiresome chore and hence my loathing of the fox. They are a protected vermin. Don't mess or come into my garden. no problem, leave their mess it becomes an issue.
    • Some folk are constantly putting household refuse, which includes food, in litter bins, which crafty foxes then liberate and eat (as well as leaving non-edibles strewn all over the place). If you’re doing this, please stop and use your own bin!  Why use bleach? It’s harmful to all forms of life. Just rinse the poo away with tepid, soapy water.
