Groupon - Le Chardon Voucher

My husband bought two very similar vouchers through Amazon recently. We had previously been to Le Chardon and been very impressed by the quality of the food and the size of the portions and thought this seemed a really good deal. However, our experience using the first of the vouchers was very, very different. For example, the portions we were served were tiny - my husband's steak was a fraction of the size of the person's on the next table who was paying the full a la carte price rather than the voucher price, and was very tough. Also, the attitude of the staff, once they knew we were using a voucher, was almost offensive. Before anyone buys one of these Groupon or Amazon vouchers, I would strongly suggest that they read the many negative reviews about this restaurant by people who have used vouchers. ?25 might seem good value for a meal, but when you are given tiny portions of poor quality food and treated differently by the very unfriendly staff to people who are not using a voucher, your money would be better used elsewhere.

We found our last (and final) visit to Le Chardon so appalling that we would rather waste the other voucher my husband bought than return again.

Just like to say that I went to Le Chardon on Saturday with 6 friends and we all had the Groupon voucher which cost us ?25 each and we could spend up to ?55 each on food and drink (a no brainer really). We were treated the same as everyone else (ie well), the portions were big and the meal was absolutely gorgeous. There were some people in there with Amazon local vouchers and they got a shorter menu but for the Groupon deal we could choose anything from the main menu. It was the first time I've ever eaten there and I would certainly return and be happy to pay full whack

    • Some foxes are very tame. The foxes that live near the electricity sub-station thing on the corner of Calton and Woodwarde will happily walk up to you/passed you. They are some of the best looking foxes around so clearly being well-fed - glorious coats and bushy tails but interested in humans and keen to engage/be fed rather than being scared.
