Very reliable local plumber and heating engineer

I wanted to post a recommendation up for JA Powers Plumbing and Heating, as I have found John not only to be professional and reliable but he has also been able to resolve any issues I have had swiftly and at a reasonable price.

I initially contacted John to service my boiler, only to find that the position of the flue was now in breach of safety regulations! Rather than this being very stressful, John was able to provide me with clear information and also recommended a fellow tradesman who was able to carry out the additional work quickly and at low cost, but to a very good standard.

Whenever I have used John the cost of the work has been very reasonable, carried out swiftly and done well ? his contact details are 07977909339 and his website is www.japowers.co.uk

Hi there, a second recommendation for John and his team, especially Craig. We have used them in two houses now and always found them to be very honest, helpful and reliable plumbers. They have just installed a complicated (to us!) boiler system in our new house, working around our loft conversion and other tradesmen whilst we were also living at the property! John and Craig are extremely hardworking and have also responded to some emergency plumbing/related requests via text out of hours, sometimes assisting us and solving the problem without the need to even call them out! We wouldn't hesitate to use them again and are planning on using them to install underfloor heating in our property in coming months.

John recently serviced our gas boiler (Sept 2013). He was excellent and spotted an earlier mistake made by a previous service (not John). He provided very good advice and we will have no hesitation in asking him for the next plumbing/heating job. He was also proved wholly reliable in making the arrangements for the appointment to come.

    • Police are responsible for speed cameras, often these only go up after a serious incident or two. If speeding was decriminalised and went to local authorities to enforce then our roads would be safer as there would be far less speeding.   https://www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/what-london-assembly-does/questions-mayor/find-an-answer/enforcement-20mph-zones-local-roads
    • Never understood why there are not more speed cameras on Lordship Lane and the surrounding area - not sure what happened here exactly, but given the damage to the front of the vehicle as a result of the impact of the traffic light, it seems very unlikely that this person was driving slowly.
    • I am always really surprised by the glowing reviews of Franklins. Not sure whether it was once very good, and so it is just somewhere that is now remembered as that and thought of fondly by those who have known it since its opening all those years ago? As someone who has lived in the area for a few years now, and having tried it a few times (mostly as a result of the positive reviews), I have always been pretty disappointed. The food has always been average for the price point, and last time we visited we waited about 40 minutes to place an order. Hopefully whoever buys it can make improvements - it would be great to have a reliable pub on the lane that serves good food (similar to the Kerfield or Camberwell Arms, etc.)!
    • I will buy you a frothy coffee from anywhere you like on Lordship Lane if that happens. Most of these costs never get recovered from the drivers that caused them. The photo shows a car that's been left on the zigzags protecting the crossing. Pedestrians crossing East to West and drivers heading South won't see each other until the pedestrians are in the road. That is a dangerous position to leave a car in. (I don't know if it's stil there, obviously).
