I got on the blower to the complaints section first thing this morning. The lady said she would send message to the relevant department. Less than 2 hours later my bin was collected. Either my phone call produced results or it was just coincidence. Either way I'm happy to see the bin empty. Now back to the garden to fill it again. Those bushes won't prune themselves!

I've only just seen this thread but have experienced similar problems. My brown bin wasn't collected for 3 weeks (Bellenden Road). Every time I logged a missed bin collection it was marked as complete while the bin wasn't collected. I emailed the waste team on multiple occasions. I received two responses, one saying that i hadn't paid my subscription (so I replied with my receipt) and one suggesting that my bin may have been contaminated with non-garden waste. I replied to both of these and didn't receive a reply, in addition to other emails I sent. I finally emailed [email protected] and the next morning someone was out taking photos of my bin (i.e. inside the top showing that it was purely garden cuttings and another of the sticker on the outside). The bin was collected shortly after. Still no response to the complaint email.

Garden and food waste used to be collected together but I think they are separate now. They empty the food waste into red wheelie bins and then put them into a small lorry that doesn't look like a typical bin lorry.

    • I don't really see the issue.  It's taking  up a small part of Goose Green.  I was able to happily eat my lunch there today witthout the fair impinging on my space or enjoyment. I presume they have chosen that location as it is near the playground, so parents with young children often go there at the weekend. • Here you go again trying to twist things saying I made personal saying I don't feel safe, but it's you firing and demanding answers, you're not the police and nor are you a moderator. No its not a reasonable question, nor is saying I should go live somewhere else.  You have a habit on here of "demanding" answers, not on.
    • Is this a popular event? If great demand for this sort of event on such a small space then so be it. It is just with Peckham Common so very close by just wondering why this is considered a preferable venue for this kind of thing?
    • Another recommendation for Jason who is brilliant all-round. He plastered our rooms and hallways (some walls were blown and needed re-boarding), replaced two ceilings and over-boarded one. From the start he was always communicative, happy to pop by to assess first, and transparent about the various options and their associated costs. He worked thoroughly, going above and beyond to make sure every job was finished to a high standard and is very fairly priced, particularly considering the hours he puts in. We’re so pleased with the results of our flat and have already recommended him unreservedly to others. Also helps that he is just a sound guy who’s really easy to chat to!
