Hiya,

I also work mainly from home and it'd be nice to meet up locally to co-work.

If you fancied travelling a bit further (or are in town anyway), it's worth checking out this co-working group: http://www.meetup.com/kindredhqcoworking/ - they are a really friendly bunch and again it means you get out of the house...I've been going on&off for over a year and got so see some cool co-working spaces this way :)

Hi,

thanks to everyone who replied.

I liked the idea of meet-up workspaces, but I can't see myself travelling into town.

How about a local meeting in one of the cafes in the area. Trouble is, I don't know where to go.

Big tables, wifi, not too many kids ...

Suggestions?

We could try next week, maybe Tuesday morning. Shall we?

Sounds good - I'm up for this as I work from home too and hardly see anyone in the daytime. If you make it a different day (Weds - Sat) then I'm sure my partner will be happy to host at his cafe, Captured on the Rye on Pellatt Road, near The Mag pub. They aren't open on Tuesdays, though.

Shall we set something up next week, I was thinking Weds to avoid clashing with the Ivy House but Friday is an option too. The shop has Wi-Fi, table space, really good coffee and cake :)

I don't drive so the Ivy House is a bit far although I'd be keen to check it out some time.

Hi - sorry, I cannot make that Wed but am very interested in trying out both, captured on the rye and the Ivyhouse ( haven't been to either, it'll give me a good excuse to explore...). Unfortunately can never do Fridays (working only Mon-Thurs) - Does anyone know if Fri is the only option on the Ivyhouse?

    • Ah sorry, it was comedy.
    • I have never used AI in my life. It's just notes from my forthcoming monograph on light industry in Dulwich and Camberwell 1879-1946 (dates chosen for obvious reasons).
    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
