Quirky wine basics book - Pls support an ED Author!

Hello EDF,

I'm a wine journalist based in East Dulwich and have just published my first book entitled 'Winebird's VINALOGY: wine basics with a twist!'.

It would be great to have some local support for this book and get the reviews going on Amazon etc. if possible, so if you're interested, please have a look! It's available now on most online book stores including Amazon(RRP ?8.99)as well as on Kindle (RRP ?3.99).

VINALOGY offers a different take on learning about wine, using storytelling, imagery and analogy (vinalogies) instead of dull winemaking facts. Did you know that Cabernet Sauvignon was the rugby player of wine grapes, for example? Or that Pinot Noir was the ballerina? VINALOGY focusses on the real building blocks of wine: the top ten red and white grape varieties and answers those frequently asked wine questions.

More info can be found on my website http://www.winebird.co.uk

Thanks very much for reading. Here's a picture of the rather lovely cover :)

Hi Helena - the book looks great, congratulations! Like many people, the subject interests me a great deal but I've always slightly glazed over at the sheer info overload - yours is presented differently and I already know more than I did half an hour ago...made me chuckle too, quite an achievement as I sit here at Heathrow having been up since 4.45am! I've downloaded to my Kindle and will do the honours on Amazon soon. Go for it, fellow EDFers!

All the best

Helen :-)

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
