I have been doing some running around the local parks and I'm sad to say that Dulwich park has the least friendly runners. In Brockwell Park you get the most Hellos and smiles from other runners. Peckham Rye is quite friendly too but the worst of all is Dulwich. Come on other runners in Dulwich Park! Smile back. Go crazy and say good morning. It's not the tube you know! Does anyone here smile when they run round Dulwich Park?
I run in Dulwich Park and smile at people and often get smiles back - still bit new to running so quite often a hello is beyond me as I'm wondering how long it is before I can walk a bit again! I'm normally in a Space Girl t-shirt and bunches - say hi/smile if you see me!! :)

I also occasionally run in dulwich park but i'm afraid you won't get a smile or hello as i'm too busy attempting to get to the end of my run without collapsing whilst simultaneously trying to also stop my lungs from exploding. This requires a lot of concentration therefore I normally wear a red face and a scowl.

The runners of brockwell are obviously a fit bunch.

Everyone on Peckham Rye in the mornings says hello! Although as the mornings get lighter and the gates open earlier, EDF morning run club may switch to dulwich park, at which point we will be sure to bring our pained and breathless brand of morning cheer to all!

Of course, you are right - I was going by some of the pictures I have seen posted in association with you on the forum - which, I have to say, didn't have a build that looked entirely suited to running of either the two or four legged kind.

However, I imagine these pictures are far from an accurate representation of your good self...

    • Sorry but I think it's best if people just check things for themselves when they buy things. In three shops/restaurants (from some years back) I just avoid the places concerned, as in all three  cases I was pretty sure it wasn't a genuine mistake, and in one place  it happened more than once and usually late at night.
    • Sorry Sue - me again. This has been on my mind all day, it's a big bug bear of mine. If you don't mind - please can you private message me some of these shops so I can cross reference / add to my AVOID list.  Thanks in advance. Let's make sure this doesn't happen this Christmas, particularly as we head into sales season. Even more problematic in my experience.
    • Pity you didn't quote what you are referring to, Mal. I didn't see the previous post, and my mind is boggling 😮
    • The Cherry Tree was absolutely excellent for a while when a youngish couple ran it and brought in a really good chef. It was them who renamed it The Cherry Tree. They were really turning it around. The chef did fantastic Scotch eggs, and one of the best roasts I've ever had. If memory serves the then owner,  for some reason known only to himself, took a dislike to them and what they were doing and sacked them all. And yes we weren't expecting a top class  meal last Christmas, and we left it too late to book anywhere else, but we weren't expecting it for a hundred pounds EACH to be quite as terrible as it was. Stupid us. Not sure why you are confused by my post, Jazzer? Did I misremember? Now it's got even more confusing because my posts have been merged and your confused emoji is shown at the bottom of the second one instead of the first 🤣
