With the Labour bashing that often happens in the Lounge I thought it good to get some balance.

You don't need to bash Labour as they are doing it themselves.  I expect you could say that the LibDems are taking the centre left.  Despite Polanksi's landslide I don't see him as uniting the country.

So the question is why under Badenoch, following on from Truss and Sunak, has the Tory party continued to lurch to the right?  The obvious answer is their membership, some see many of these as climate change deniers and xenophobic https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-68581917

Will going down the direction of Reform win them any votes?

What ever happened to one nation conservatism??

Genuinely interested.

Bad Enoch

It's Kemi Badenoch, at least get her name right.

Lurching even further to the right, maybe in your opinion.

Kemi is quietly getting on with the job of being in opposition, putting policies together and sharing those.

British politics needs a radical change, however IMO, Reform is NOT the answer, only a distraction. Nigel is a flash in the pan having failed as UKIP he's come back as Reform who are so far right they are truly scary.

    • Same odds given for Rayner being next leader of Labour Party.
    • Sometimes what's biting you can be identified by the type of bite, and if there's more than one bite, where they are and how close together, for example. You could try taking a photo (or getting someone else to) and posting it on something like  ChatGPT? Or just googling pictures of insect bites in the UK? I know people put ChatGPT down, but I've recently discovered it, and it has been unexpectedly brilliant for a wide range of different things. Including reminding me what a particular cloud formation was called when I uploaded a picture (along with lots of interesting additional information about these particular clouds!) It's free unless you need a load of more complicated stuff doing. Even if it tells you you've used your quota for the day (or whatever), it generally just lets you continue on regardless, in my experience!
    • Have you got an old VHS player or camcorder gathering dust in a cupboard? If it still works (bonus if you’ve got the cables), I’d love to give it a good home instead of it ending up in landfill. Happy to collect at a time that suits you. Thanks in advance!
    • The Ivy House, London's first community owned pub, thriving, lots going on, and just down the road in Nunhead! If this is the first time she has been to London, loads of things to see, obviously, so it would depend on her interests and how long she is here for? The more famous "sights" might appeal more than local landmarks, or vice versa,  but maybe make a list of possibilities and  leave it open until she's here? Some may also depend on the weather, of course, and what is open when over the holiday period. Hope you all have a lovely time!
