How much space was available there, and how does it compare with what they have at Highshore Road?  Are RM Parcels also having local difficulties with the size of the Christmas parcel stream?

Actually, one of the reasons Sylvester Road was closed was that the space available as more and more parcels were part of the mix was insufficient (and the facilities were primitive). And that was before Covid when parcel delivery numbers soared. Sylvester Road as it existed then would not have coped, probably (and the move to Peckham, when Covid arrived, showed that that wasn't sufficient either!).

Although that is true, Royal Mail could probably have found a suitable bigger alternative site in SE22 (I think at least one was suggested to them) rather than trying to combine it with the existing Peckham site and expecting people in East Dulwich to pick up parcels etc from there.

Yes, but how would you propose changing all that back to "the good old days" now?

Repeal the legislation that abolished the Royal Mail monopoly on letter delivery and legislate a monopoly on last mile parcel delivery of packages under 20kg. It's actually remarkably simple and will never happen.

I agree about the site and buying another one, but I was responding to a query about the old site. Which was no longer fit for purpose. Selling that and not buying another locally was just money for old rope for the foreign owners, as was moving the DO to an unsuitable building too far away.

We never intend to hurt the customer but thing is we are getting more than 300+ Parcels everyday... After the merger of this 2 companies- inpost and yodel it is all mess.

Hang in there, friends. Most of us appreciate that you're trying you best and these companies are a nightmare!

I'm glad that Barry's have posted.  Their mention of the merger soon led me to (a) bushy-tailed  PR guff about the new member joining the inpost 'family' and promising a bright happy world of lockers etc ahead. and (b) clear signs that the same problems related here seem to have been current and widespread even three months ago.  That's just from looking at one thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/vinted/comments/1nlv3u2/yodelinpost_merger_issues/

Dear oh dear.

Things have gone very wrong, haven't they?

On the face of it, it seems to be a result of very poor management at some higher level, and a lack of thinking things through before implementing changes?

What a mess.

Hey,

we try to accept as many as we can but at certain point we need to send them back. We did complaint to Inpost and yodel about this situation but they are not responding to it. After the merger of this 2 companies- inpost and yodel it is all mess.
Sorry for inconvenience.

Do you have the option to suspend listing the shop as a pick-up location? It would seem to be a sensible thing to be able to do if your storage was reaching capacity.

So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.

Staff at Barry’s took my details and said they contact me if they received it (that was Friday when it was recorded as being delivered.)

They didn’t.

Visited the store today to see what was going on and they produced the item.

I won’t be using them again as a delivery option.
