Just to make people aware!! Broad daylight burglary has happened to property backing on to Camberwell Old Cemetery at the beginning of this month. Due to holes in fences and back gates opening easily intruders have managed to jump in to gardens..by getting through cemetery fencing, enter our property and burgle many expensive and personal belongings! Jumping between gardens once gaining access from the cemetery!! This happened whilst family was at home!! Please be aware of this. I also have seen two disreputable looking men on the green looking in to backs of houses who scuttled off once I appeared!! Worrying also is hearing from neighbours and from the police that there has been a increase in local burglarys recently!! The fences at the back of the cemetery need to be secured properly so that we are kept safe as many residents are at risk!! Hope this helps to save others from the distress and fear we have endured as a result of this horrible crime!!
Very worrying indeed at the fact that there has been a increase in local burglarys recently. I hope the forum can continue to be put to this kind of good use- raising awareness in the hope to prevent such terrible events happening to others

Hi Asus and Annie,

I am aware of this as I spoke to the resident who was burgled last week. AS a result, I have subsequently discussed this horrible occurrence with senior cemetery staff. There has been a site visit to look at the access to the back of properties from the cemetery and how security can be improved, to reduce the risk of such events happening in the future.

I believe the police said they had dealt with 10 in the area that day.

At last night Dulwich Community Council the Police reported during September 22 burglaries in College ward and 20 burglaries in East Dulwich ward.

We have FREE property marking kits for homes in East Dulwich ward. They dramaitcally reduce the chance of being burgled. Email me if you'd like one.

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
    • Nice topic and nice song!  1) Definitely top of Canonbie, looking North. 2) What used to be Francesca Cabrini school at the top of FHR. 3) Honor Oak playground, next to Camberwell New cemetery.
