No, I don't think this is hatred of a woman, not if you examine the other posts these dickless little boys have made from the safety of their stinking bedrooms, for them it's hatred of women, pure and simple, it's misogyny, not sexism. And like david_carnell, they make me ashamed of my gender.

Also, if you examine the abuse Ruby got from posters who could be positively identified as women, it was far more general abuse, nowhere near as specifically misogynist as the abuse that came from posters who could be positively identified as men.

And yes Tr? , the first bit of my post was in answer to you, making the same point as Red Devil's, though the rest of my post was for everyone. Sorry, I should have separated it into paragraphs.

You think there are lots of woman posting rape jokes?

Sadly, I was recently told a rape joke by a woman. The other women in the group that evening gave her an incredibly hard time about it.

I'll give an example from Frankie Boyle:

They?ve bought out a condom now for people with premature ejaculation and they?ve put an anesthetic in the lining that makes you numb and you can last for longer. Or, you can wear it inside out and you don?t have to wake anybody up!

There are jokes and there are jokes. Some people get upset about people using the word 'frape'.

I did it on purpose. Or is it not obvious to you?

But it rather undermines your own argument. Is that not obvious to you?

Or the uproar caused by those unable to refer to gay or black people without using such words?

ETA: Y'see I'm sure you meant "jokes that use unacceptable terms like..." or maybe meant to put inverted commas around both words, but by not doing so you you can easily be misinterpreted; pedantry perhaps but there IS a case for the proper use of grammar, punctuation etc.

I did think about apostrophes, or even asterisking some letters, but decided it'd have a better impact this way?

Pretty much. It's got a quite engaging pair - Mel & Sue - presenting, and Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry judging. It's funny, interesting, undemanding, and endearingly British.

Via the incredibly nastiness of some people for whom a cake show can only be improved by aiming rape jokes, disgusting insults and wishes of insane violence at one of the competitors, and indeed her family. Good work, some unspeakable human beings.

    • I think it's a good idea and follows the example of other towns/areas. As it says in the article, the area around the main tourist attractions in Southwark, that is The Globe, Southwark Cathedral, Tate Modern and the whole walking route from London Bridge to Blackfriars, takes a lot of maintaining and it shouldn't be a burden on regular council tax payers like us.
