As it happens I met a tree the other day and informed it that due to Dutch Elm disease I would have to cut it down. Well would you believe it, turned out it was a larch and was thoroughly nonplussed at my insensitivity, I mean it was behaving like an elm, and I told it as much, and did you know...ad nauseum....

You could fill up you time with writing any old rubbish on the forum.

Like last week my cat was stolen by gay, racist pit bulls. You laugh but that?s probably one of the least surreal things that have happened to me lately.

I remember as if it were yesterday the hour I spent yesterday afternoon standing on a rock in Peckham Rye Park. Stevie her name was, the rock that is, not the turtle that was watching me. Now naming rocks is an old tradition and one not practised ?round these parts since the ?80s so I am assuming that Stevie was at least very old.

But I digress.

So there I was, just carrying out the orders I had left myself in a sealed and enveloped all those years back. Orders that yesterday afternoon didn?t make much sense but I knew that they had to be followed or calamity would surely befall the diner and Billy Ray?s dream for a soda machine may reach their horrible conclusion.

It was raining too which didn?t help. Although I did find solace in the fact that I didn?t own an open topped car.

It?s afternoons like yesterday that leave a man to ponder and ponder I did. I took to pondering over the amount of time I spend writing nonsense online. Particularly how one gets confused. Like when I was standing at the bar in the plough and tried to type a witty retort to the guy standing next to me. Although I don?t know why I took so much offence to him calling me a wally. Perhaps it?s because he was a Kiwi or Celine Dion.

Close your eyes and reflect how you could improve your own personal performance within the organisation that, after all, does pay your wages.Try to contemplate any costcutting measures that could be implemented. Are there any ways that you could lighten your bosses load, for example? Its good to care......

    • OK so we are having our annual conversation about getting aircon fitted, as our west-facing loft turns into an ACTUAL FURNACE whenever the temperature goes over 25 degrees. (It's 33 degrees in here now and that's with the blackout blinds closed all day.) We have Velux windows that are hinged in the middle so I think a portable unit is out of the question as it would be a nightmare with the vent. So maybe we just need to bite the bullet and get a proper unit installed. Has anyone had experience of doing this, particularly in a loft? Any things to watch out for/recommendations for installers, and would you be willing to say how much it cost (I'm seeing wildly varying prices quoted online)? I know it's a lot of money for only a few days a year but as the summers are getting hotter it's becoming more of an issue every year. Any advice appreciated!
    • Well we already have a top class gym with a reformer Pilates studio at Fitfor.  I don’t think they’ve found it easy over the years to make money. We could end up with none. There’s also Core just opened in Upland Rd doing massage therapy. All these places won’t be here in 12 months I’m afraid to say.
    • Todays the day, which option will we get  All will be evealed in the next exciting episode of "tooley street"  (que bum bum bums)
    • Noticed the bollard (big bell shaped one) has again been torn up. Wonder how many times this has happened over the years and how much it's cost.
